Under Construction
Savannah & Atlanta
The S&A was organized in 1915 to build a connection from the Savannah & Northwestern from Springfield, GA, to a connection with the Georgia RR at Camak Jct. The S&NW had been organized as the Brinson RR in 1906 and was renamed in 1914. In 1917 the S&A took over the S&NW and the total mileage was 142 miles. It came under the control of the Southern Ry and parts of it are still being operated as NS branch lines.
750 was built by Alco-Schenectady in January 1910, #46567, as Florida East Coast 136. It was renumbered 88 and later sold to the S&A as 750 in 1935. It is now at the Southeastern Railway Museum at Duluth, GA.
