Birmingham Terminal Ry.

This was Birmingham Southern RR.


Blue Mountain RR

784, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1963, #28400, FN 7662-3, as Western Pacific 3003, Class RS-65.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in 1980 and became Union Pacific 784 on March 15, 1984.  It was retired on January 1, 1993, and sold to Watco as BMRR 784.  It was merged to Palouse River & Coulee City RR as 784 in July 2000 and later renumbered 3502

790, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1963, #28407, FN 7662-10, as WP 3010, Class RS-65.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in 1980 and became UP 790 on April 3, 1984.  It was retired on January 1, 1993, and sold to Watco as BMRR 790.  It was merged to PRCC as 790 in July 2000 and later renumbered 3507.


Eastern Idaho RR

782, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive  in November 1963, #28398, FN 7662-1, as Western Pacific 3001, Class RS-65.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in 1980 and became Union Pacific 782, Class GP35, on March 6, 1984.  It was retired on December 30, 1993, and sold to Watco as EIRR 782.  It was later WAMX 3501.

785, GP35. was built by Electro-Motive in November 1963, #28401, FN 7662-4, as WP 3004, Class RS-65.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in 1980, and became UP 785, Class GP35, on December 28, 1983.   It was retired on December 30, 1993, and sold to Watco as EIRR 785.  It was later WAMX 3503.

786, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1963, #28402, FN 7662-5, as WP 3005, Class RS-65.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in November 4, 1980, and became UP 786, Class GP35, on March 11, 1984.   It was retired on December 30, 1993, and sold to Watco as EIRR 786.  It was later WAMX 3504.

788, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1963, #28405, FN 7662-8, as WP 3008, Class RS-65.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in 1980 and became UP 788, Class GP35, on March 9, 1984.  It was retired on December 30, 1993, and sold to Watco as EIRR 788.  It became WAMX 3505.

791, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1964, #29031, FN 7770-2, as WP 3012, Class RS-65.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in 1980 and became UP 791, Class GP35, on December 19, 1983.  It was retired on December 30, 1993, and sold to Watco as EIRR 791.  It was later WAMX 3508.

793, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1965, #30218, FN 7790-2, as WP 3014, Class RS-65.  It became UP 793, Class GP35, on May 30, 1985, and was retired on December 30, 1993.  It was sold to Watco as EIRR 793 and became WAMX 3510.

798, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1965, #30224, FN 7790-8, as WP 3020, Class RS-65.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in 1980 and became UP 798, Class GP35, in February 1987.  It was retired on December 30, 1993, and sold to Watco as EIRR 798.  It became WAMX 3512

1004, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1952, #16975, FN 5152-1, as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 2748, Class 2659.  It was rebuilt at Cleburne in November 1980 as 2214,  Class 2050.  It was sold to VMV Enterprises and sold to Watco as South East Kansas 1004 in May 1989.  It was transferred as EIRR 1004 on November 17, 1993, and transferred as WATCo 7015 in 2000.

2174, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1952, #15820, FN 5110-23, as AT&SF  2720, Class 2650.  It was rebuilt in October 1979 at Cleburne as 2174, Class 2050.  It was sold as South Kansas & Oklahoma 2174 in December 1990 and transferred as EIRR 2174 in 1993.  It became WATCo 7021 in 2000.

2178, GP7u, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1952, #17006, FN 5170-7, as AT&SF 2779, Class 2650. It was rebuilt in December 1970 at Cleburne as 2178, Class 2050. It was later retired and sold to SK&O as 2178. It later became EIRR 2178 and later Stillwater Central RR 2178.  It became WATCo 7022.

2186, GP7u, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1953, #17018, FN 5218-A4, as AT&SF 2791, Class 2650.  It was rebuilt at Cleburne in March 1980 as 2186, Class 2050.It was sold as SKOL 2186 in December 1990 and transferred as EIRR 2186 on November 18, 1993.  It was transferred as SLWC 2186 in June 1998 and became WATCo 7024 in 2000.

2191, GP7u, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1953, #17017, FN 5218-A3, as AT&SF 2790, Class 2650. It was rebuilt at Cleburne in April 1980 as 2191, Class 2050. It was sold to SKOL 2191 in December 1990 and later as EIRR as 2191 on November 17, 1993.  It was transferred as WAMX 2191 and renumbered 7027 in 2000.

2225, GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1963, #28233, FN 7643-26, as Pennsylvania RR 2225, Class EF-22.  It became Penn Central 2225, Class EF-22, in 1968, and Consolidated Railroad Corp 2225, Class GP-30, in April 1976.  It was sold as EIRR 2225 in 1993 and became WAMX 3003.  It was rebuilt as 705, road slug.

3156, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1968. #34333, as Penn Central 3156, Class EF-30.  It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 3156, Class GP-40, in April 1976 and sold as Denver & Rio Grande Western 3156 on November 21, 1983.  It was renumbered 3144, Class EF430D-3, on April 18, 1984.  It was sold to OmniTrax in December 1993 and assigned as Eastern Idaho RR 3144 in November 1994.  It was rebuilt by National Railway Equipment Co as Florida East Coast 448, GP40-3, in 1998.

3157, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1968, #34334, as PC 3157, Class EF-30. It became Conrail 3157, Class GP-40, in April 1976 and was sold to D&RGW as 3157 on November 1, 1983. It was renumbered 3145, Class EF430D-3, on June 20, 1984. It was retired in December 1992 and sold to Omnitrax. It was sold to EIRR as 3145 in November 1944 and then rebuilt as a GP40-3 by National Railway Equipment Co in 1999 as FEC 449.

3167, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1970, #36116, as Southern Ry 3167. It was retired in February 1987 and sold to Electro-Motive Leasing as 3167 in June 1988. It was later sold to VMV Enterprises as 3167 and later to EIRR as 3167 in 1993. In 1999 it became Watco 3167 and assigned later as 4502.

3669, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1965, #30595, as Erie Lackawanna 2563, Class MFE-25D-6.  It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 3669, Class GP-35, in April 1976 and retired on July 21, 1993.  It was sold as EIRR 3669 and became Watco 3524 in 2004.

4203, GP30M, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1962, #27586, FN 7627-3, as Chesapeake & Ohio 3004, Class MRSE-30.  It was reclassified Class GP-30 in 1964 and rebuilt as Class GP-3M.  It was renumbered 4203 in 1986 and became CSX Transportation 4203, Class GP-30M, in 1987.  It was sold as 4203 in 1998.

6513, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1967, #33820, FN 7993-17, as Pennsylvania RR 6186, Class EF-36.  It became Penn Central 6186, Class EF-36, in 1968 and Consolidated Railroad Corp 6186, Class SD-45, in April 1976.  It was sold to C&NW as 6513 on December 30, 1983, and retired on April 5, 1988.  It was sold to VMV Enterprises in October 1989 and sold as EIRR 6513 in 1993.  It went as WAMX 4503.


Kansas & Oklahoma RR

1150, GP38, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1967, #33336, FN 7060-19, as Baltimore & Ohio 3818, Class GP-38.  It was renumbered 2018 and then became CSX Transportation 2018, Class GP-38.  It was retired on June 23, 1994, and sold to Helm Atlantic Leasing Co as HATX 100 on June 12, 1994.  It was leased as Wheeling & Lake Erie 100 in November 1994 and returned on July 31, 1997.  It was leased as Transportacion Ferroviaria Mexicana 1150 in December 1997 and returned to Helm as 1150 in June 2001.  It went to K&O 1150 in June 2001 and became WAMX 3801.

1151, GP38, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1967, #33690, as Chesapeake & Ohio 3859, Class GP-38.  It was renumbered 2059 and then became CSX 2059, Class GP-38.  It was sold as W&LE 101 and sold as HATX 101.  It was leased as TFM 1151 in December 1997 and returned to Helm as 1151 in June 2001.  It went to K&O 1151 in June 2000 and became WAMX 3802.

1152, GP38, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1970, #36679, FN 7274-14, as B&O 4803, Class GP-38.  It was renumbered 2103 in 1986 and became CSX 2103, Class GP-38, in 1987.  It was retired on June 23, 1994, and sold to Helm Atlantic Corp on May 12, 1994.  It was rebuilt by VMV Enterprises in 1994 as Wheeling & Lake Erie 102 and retired on July 31, 1997.  It was leased as Transportacion Ferroviaria Mexicana 1152 in December 1997 and sold as Kansas & Oklahoma RR 1152 in May 2001.  It became as WAMX 3803 in 2009 and sold to Progress Rail Services as PRLX 3803.

1154, GP38, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1970, #36681, as B&O 4815, Class GP-38. It was later 2115 and then became CSX 2115, Class GP-38. It was retired on January 21, on 1997, and sold to Illinois Central on April 23, 1997. It was sold then to Helm Atlantic as 115 on October 24, 1997, It was sent to TFM 1154 in December in 1997 and returned to Helm as 1154 in June 2000. It went to K&O 1154 in May 2001.

3521, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1965, #29965, as Denver & Rio Grande Western 3040, Class DE B-B 62.  It was sold to South East Kansas as 3040 in January 1995 and later as K&O 3521.

3901, GP35m, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1965, #30153, FN 7789-19, as Southern Pacific 7746, Class DF-626.  It was renumbered as 6643, Class EF425-4, in 1966 and rebuilt by VMV Enterprises in December 1990 as Burlington Northern 2970, Class GP-39V.  It became Burlington Northern Santa Fe 2970, Class GP39V.  It became Class GP-39R, and sold as WAMX 3901.

3907, GP35m, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1964, #29510, FN 7729-12, as Gulf Mobile & Ohio 624.  It became Illinois Central Gulf 2522 and sold as VMV Enterprises 2522.  It was rebuilt by VMV as BN 2976, Class GP-39V, on November 20, 1990, and became BNSF 2976, Class GP39V, on September 19, 2001.  It became Class GP-39R and sold as WAMX 3907.  It was assigned as Kansas & Oklahoma.

4259, GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1962, #27671, as Baltimore & Ohio 6954, Class FSE-5.  It was reclassified Class GP-30 in 1964 and later rebuilt in 1983 as Class GP-30M.  It was renumbered 4759 and then became CSX Transportation 4259, Class GP-30M.  It was retired November 30, 1995, and sold to Pielet Bros on March 1, 1996.  It was sold to South Kansas & Oklahoma as 4259 in 1999 and transfered to K&O as 4259 in May 2001.


Osage RR

1000, CF7, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1949, #8923, FN E1234-A4, as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 218C, Class 200, F7A.  It was rebuilt at Cleburne in November 1973 as 2542, Class 2417, and retired on January 18, 1987.  It was sold to WATCo in February 1987.  It became South East Kansas 1000 in April 1987 and transferred as ORR 1000.


Palouse River & Coulee City RR

2268, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1964, #29017, FN 7713-17, as Pennsylvania RR 2268, Class EF-25.  It became Penn Central 2268, Class EF-25, in 1968 and Consolidated Railroad Corp 2268, Class GP-35, in April 1976.  It was sold as PRCC 2268.  It was became WAMX 3514 in 2011.

2353, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1965, #30370, FN 7793-43, as PRR 2353, Class EF-25.  It became PC 2353, Class EF-25, in 1968 and Conrail 2353, Class GP-35, in April 1976.  It was sold as PCC 2353 in 1996 and became WAMX 3516 in 2011.

3004, GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1963, #28114, FN 7643-7, as Pennsylvania RR 2206, Class EF-22.  It became Penn Central 2206, Class EF-22, in 1968, and Consolidated Railroad Corp 2206, Class GP-30, in April 1976.   It was sold as Ohio Central RR 3003 and sold as Inman Service Co 3004.  It was sold as PCC 3004 and became WAMX 3023.

3651, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1964, #29584, as Reading Co 3651, Class RSE-14.  It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 3651, Class GP-35, in April 1976 and sold as PCC 3651.  It was renumbered as Watco 3523 in 2011.

4212, GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1963, #28411, as Chesapeake & Ohio 3017, Class MRSE-30.  It was reclassified as Class GP-30 in 1964 and rebuilt as Class GP-30M.  It was renumbered 4212 and became CSX Transportation 4212, Class GP-30.  It was sold as PRCC 4212 in 1996 and became Watco 3021.

4229, GP-30M, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1963, #28515, FN 7663-24, as C&O 3039, Class MRSE-30.  It was reclassified as Class GP-30 in 1964 and rebuilt as Class GP-30M.  It was renumbered 4229 in 1986 and became CSX 4229, Class GP-30.  It was sold as PRCC 4229 in 1996 and became WAMX 3525.


South East Kansas RR

This line operates former Missouri Pacific lines between Liberal, MO, and Faulkner, KS, with branches to Cherokee, KS, and a KCS connection near Pittsburg, KS, and is now a part of South Kansas & Oklahoma RR.

102, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1951, #12060, as Missouri-Kansas-Texas 1512.  It was renumbered 102 in 1958 and later rebuilt.  It was retired on June 9, 1989, and sold to WATCo as SEK 102  on June 26, 1989.  It was renumbered WATCo 7006.

103, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1951, #12061, as MKT 1513.  It was renumbered 103 in 1958 and retired on May 9, 1989.  It was sold to WATCo as SEK 103 on June 26, 1989 and renumbeed as WATCo 7007.

106, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1951, #12064, as MKT 1516.  It was renumbered 106 on November 19, 1958, and was sold to WATCo as SEK 106 on July 19, 1989.  It was renumbered WATCo 7010.

117, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1951, #15994, as MKT 1527.  It was renumbered 117 in 1958 and rebuilt.  It was retired on April 24, 1989, and sold to WATCo as SEK 117 on June 26, 1989.  It was renumbered WATX 7011.

123, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1952, #17085, as MKT 1764.  It was renumbered 123 in 1958 and rebuilt in March 1972.  It was retired on May 9, 1989, and sold to WATCo as SEK 123 on June 9, 1989.  It was renumbered WATCo 7012.

143, RS3u, was built by Alco in June 1951, #78893, as MKT 1702. It was renumbered 143 in 1958 and rebuilt by Electro-Motive in October 1959. It was sold to Watco on April 12, 1989, and they assigned it to SEK.  It was sold for scrap on August 28, 2009, and cut up on September 15, 2009.

1000, CF7, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1949, #8923, FN E1234-A4, as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 218C, Class 200, F7A.  It was rebuilt at Cleburne in November 1973 as 2542, Class 2417, and retired on January 18, 1987.  It was sold to WATCo in February 1987.  It became SEK 1000 in April 1987 and transferred as Osage RR 1000.

1002, CF7, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1949, #7759, FN E1095-A14, as AT&SF 208C, Class 200, F7A.  It was rebuilt at Cleburne in October 1973 as 2549, Class 2417, and retired on January 16, 1987.  It was sold to WATCo in February 1987.  It became SEK 1002 in April 1987 and became as WATX 1002.  It was renumbered as WAMX 7106.

1004, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1952, #16975, as AT&SF 2748, Class 2659.  It was rebuilt at Cleburne in November 1980 as 2214, Class 2050.  It was sold to VMV Enterprises and sold to Watco as SEK 1004 in May 1989.  It was transferred as Eastern Idaho RR 1004 on November 17, 1993, and transferred as WATCo 7015 in 2000.

1274, SW9u, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1952, #16680, as Western Pacific 606, Class S-62. It was rebuilt at Omaha as Union Pacific 1274 and later sold to SEK as 1274.

3030, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1964, #29261, as Denver & Rio Grande Western 3030, Class DE B-B 62.  It was retired in December 1993 and sold to SEK as 3030 on November 1, 1994.  It was later renumbered 3519.

3031, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1964, #29262, as D&RGW 3031, Class DE B-B 62.  It was retired in December 1993 and sold to SEK as 3031 on November 1, 1994.  It was transferred to South Kansas & Oklahoma as 3031 in August 1998 and later renumbered 3520.  It was rebuilt as WAMX 504, slug.

3040, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1965, #29965, as D&RGW 3040, Class DE B-B 62.  It was sold to SEK as 3040 in January 1995 and later as Kansas & Oklahoma 3521.

3046, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1965, #29971, as D&RGW 3046, Class DE B-B 62.  It was retired in December 1993 and sold to SEKR as 3046 in January 1995.  It became WAMX 3522.

4101, GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1962, #27789, FN 5635-2, as Kansas City Southern 101.  It was renumbered 4101 in January 1973 and sold as SEKR 4101.  It was transferred as SKOL 4101.  It was assigned as WAMX 3010 but scrapped at Jacksonville, FL in January 2008.


South Kansas & Oklahoma RR

This road operates over former Santa Fe lines from Tulsa, OK, to Iola, KS, with branches to Coffeyville, KS, and Oxford, KS, and now includes the former SEK trackage.

106, CF7, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1950, #9607, as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 306L, Class 300, an F7A. It was renumbered in November 1952 as 325L, Class 325, and was rebuilt at Cleburne as 2442, Class 2417, on August 31, 1977. It was sold to General Electric in December 1984 and later National Railway Equipment in May 1985, It became Meridian & Bigbee RR as 106 in June 1985 and later became SKOL as 106.

789, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1963, #28406, as Western Pacific 3009, Class RS-65.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudesen in 1980 and became Union Pacific 789 on November 9, 1984.  It was retired on December 30, 1993, and sold to Watco as SK&O 789 in 1994.  It later was renumbered 3501.

797, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1965, #30223, as WP 3019, Class RS-65. It became UP 797 on December 12, 1983, and was retired April 5, 1993. It was sold to Watco Inc as SK&O 797 and later renumbered 3511.

1003, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1953, #18568, FN 5288-15, as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 2863, Class 2650.  It was rebuilt at Cleburne in December 1978 as 2146, Class 2050.  It was sold as Inman Service Co 1003.  It was sold to Watco as 1003 and was assigned as SK&O 1003.  It was renumbered as WATCo 7014.

1601, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1950, #11123, FN 6074-7, as Missouri-Kansas-Texas 1507.  It was renumbered 97 in 1958 and later rebuilt.  It was retired in May 1989 and sold to Wilson Ry in July 1989.  It was sold as Chicago Central & Pacific 1601 in 1989 and retired in April 1991.  It was sold as SK&O 1601 and renumbered as WATCo 7018.

2290,GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1964, #29461, FN 7741-7, as Pennsylvania RR 2290, Class EF-25.  It became Penn Central 2290, Class EF-25, in 1968 and Consolidated Railroad Corp 2290, Class GP-25, in April 1976.  It was sold as SKOL 2290.  It became WAMX 3515 in 2011.

3031, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1964, #29262, as Denver Rio Grande & Western 3031, Class DE B-B 62.  It was retired in December 1993 and sold to South East Kansas as 3031 on November 1, 1994.  It was transferred to SK&O as 3031 in August 1998 and later renumbered 3520. It was rebuilt as WAMX 504, slug.

WAMX 4035, GP40-3, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1971, #38562, FN 7340-10, as Chesapeake & Ohio 4083, Class GP-40.  It was renumber 6838 in 1986 and later CSX Transporation 6838, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was sold to Helm Leasing as HLCX 665 and rebuilt as HLCX 4415, GP40-3.  It was sold as WAMX 4035 in 2006 and assigned as South Kansas & Oklahoma RR in 2013.

4101, GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1962, #27789, FN 5635-2, as Kansas City Southern 101.  It was renumbered 4101 in January 1973 and sold as South East Kansas RR 4101.  It was transferred as SKOL 4101.  It was assigned as WAMX 3010 but scrapped at Jacksonville, FL in January 2008.

4111, GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1963, #28389, FN 7661-2, as KCS 111.  It was renumbered 4111 in January 1973 and sold as SKOL 4111.  It was rebuilt as a slug WAMX 503.

4114 GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1963, #28393, FN 7661-5, as KCS 114.  It was renumbered 4114 in January 1973 and sold as SKOL 4114.  It was rebuilt as a remote control WAMX 301.

4115, GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1963, #28393, FN 7661-6, as KCS 115.  It was renumbered 4115 in January 1973 and sold as SKOL 4115.  It was assigned as WAMX 3017 but rebuilt as slug 502.

4117, GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1963, #28395, FN 7661-8, as KCS 117..  It was renumbered 4117 in January 1973 and sold as SKOL 4117.  It was assigned as WAMX 3018 but rebuilt as Non-Powered Control Unit 305.  It was scrapped in February 2011.

4153, GP20u, was built by Electro-Motive  in January 1962, #26948, FN 7611-6, as St Louis South-Western 815, Class Z20B-B.  It was renumbered 4046, Class EF420C-2, in 1966 and rebuilt as 4153, Class EF420-S02, in 1978.  It was sold as SKOL 4153 and became WAMX 2003.

4259, GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1962, #27671, as Baltimore & Ohio 6954, Class FSE-5.  It was reclassified Class GP-30 in 1964 and later rebuilt in 1983 as Class GP-30M.  It was renumbered 4759 and then became CSX Transportation 4259, Class GP-30M.  It was retired November 30, 1995, and sold to Pielet Bros on March 1, 1996.  It was sold to SK&O as 4259 in 1999 and transfered to Kansas & Oklahoma RR as 4259 in May 2001.

6606, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1964, #29711. as Southern Pacific 7709, Class DF-625.  It was renumbered 6606, Class EF425-3, in 1966 and later sold as Columbus & Ohio River 6606,  It was then sold to SK&O as 6606 and later became WATCo 3528.  It was rebuilt as 501, road slug.

6628, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1965, #30138, FN 7789-4, as SP 7731, Class DF-626.  It was renumbered 6628, Class EF 425-4, in 1966, and sold as Ohio Central RR 6628.  It was sold as SK&O 6628 and became WAMX 3529.


Southwest Kansas RR

1001, CF7, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1951, #13722, as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 249C, Class 200, an F7A.  It was rebuilt at Cleburne as 2544, Class 2417, in November 1973 and retired on January 16, 1987.  It was sold to WATCo in February 1987 and became  SWK 1001 in April 1987.  It was sold as Dodge City Ford & Bucklin RR 1001 but the line was abandoned later.


Stillwater Central Railroad

This line operates 117 miles between Tulsa, OK, and Snyder, OK, and between Stillwater, OK, and Pawnee, OK.

2178, GP7u, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1952, #17006, as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 2779, Class 2650. It was rebuilt at Cleburne in December 1979 as 2178, Class 2050. It later was sold to South Kansas & Oklahoma as 2178 and then went to Eastern Idaho RR as 2178 before going to SLWC as 2178.  It became WATCo 7022.

2186, GP7u, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1953, #17018, as AT&SF 2791, Class 2650.  It was rebuilt at Cleburne in March 1980 as 2186, Class 2050.It was sold as SKOL 2186 in December 1990 and transferred as EIRR 2186 on November 18, 1993.  It was transferred as SLWC 2186 in June 1998 and became WATCo 7024 in 2000.


Watco Mechanical Service Co.

J8, 65 Ton, was built by General Electric in February 1943, #15886, for Nebraska Ordnance Works.  It became United States Army 7149 and later sold as U S Railway Manufacturing Co 7146.  It was merged as Evans Railcar 79 and became Itel Railcar 79.  It became Berwind Railway Services 76 and became WMS J8.


Yellowstone Valley RR

The northern segment, from Bainville to Scobey, was constructed by the Great Northern Ry opening to Plentywood in 1911 and Scobey in 1914. A further extension was built to Opheim later abandoned. The other line was built as a pair of branch lines connecting Sidney to the GN at Snowden and the Northern Pacific Ry at Glendive. The Snowden-Sidney piece was completed by the Montana Eastern Ry, a GN subsidiary, in 1915, and the remainder by the NP in 1912. Effective August 15, 2005, the YSVR leased both of these lines from the BNSF Railway, successor to the GN and NP.

WAMX 3922, GP35m, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1965, #30114, FN 7787-1, as Great Northern 3026, Class GP-35.  It became Burlington Northern 2509, Class GP-35, in 1970 and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in October 1988 as Burlington Northern 2875, Class GP-39M.  It became Burlington Northern Santa Fe 2875, Class GP-39M, in August 2000 and became Class GP-39R.  It was sold as WATCo 3922 and assigned as Yellowstone Valley RR.
