These were the back bone of the Boston system until the coming of the PCCs.
5500 thru 5599 were built by Brill in 1922 and rebuilt in 1929.
5600 thru 5629 were built by Brill in 1923 and rebuilt in 1929.
5630 thru 5659 were built by Laconia in 1923 and rebuilt in 1929 as Class 5A.
5660 thru 5679 were built by Brill in 1923 and rebuilt in 1929 as Type 5A1.
5680 thru 5699 were built by Laconia in 1923 and rebuilt in 1929 as Type 5A.
5700 thru 5749 were built by Brill in 1924 and rebuilt in 1929 as Type 5A1.
5750 thru 5779 were built by Osgood-Bradley in 1923 and rebuilt in 1929 as Type 5A2.
5780 thru 5804 were built by Laconia in 1923 and rebuilt in 1929 as Type 5A.
