Alpine was on the Sunset Route and is now a Union Pacific line.
Tower 16, Denison, controlled the crossings of the Texas & Pacific, Frisco, and Southern Pacific. It was an SP tower which was turned over to the Burlington Northern when the line from Denison to South Sherman Jct was sold to the BN in 1993. It was closed on October 23, 2001, and the tower has been moved to Grapevine, TX, for preservation.
