Electro-Motive GP40 Diesels

(500), Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34077, FN 7102-1, as Missouri-Kansas-Texas 194.  It was assigned UP 500, Class GP40, but retired on April 28, 1992.  It was sold for scrap to Hyman Michaels on March 17, 1993.

501, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34078, FN 7102-2, as MKT 195.  It became UP 501, Class GP40, on August 19, 1990, and retired on October 9, 1992.  It was sold to RailTex as Missouri & Northern Arkansas as 501 in October 1992 and renumbered 4044.

502, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34079, FN 7102-3, as MKT 196.  It became UP 502, Class GP40, on July 18, 1990, and retired on October 9, 1992.  It was sold to RailTex as MNA 502 in October 1992 and renumbered 4007.

503, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34080, FN 7102-4, as MKT 197.  It became UP 503, Class GP40, on June 2, 1990, and retired on October 9, 1992.  It was sold to RailTex as MNA 503 in October 1992 and renumbered 4006.

504, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34081, FN 7102-5, as MKT 198. It became UP 504, Class GP40, on July 27, 1990, and retired on October 9, 1992. It was sold to RailTex as Missouri & Northern Arkansas as 504 in October 1992.  It collided with Branson Scenic RR 83 and rebuilt as 4003 in 1998.

505, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34082, FN 7102-6, as MKT 199.  It became UP 505 on June 9, 1989, and retired on October 9, 1992.   It was sold to RailTex as MNA 505 in October 1952 and was transferred as Indiana & Ohio RR 4008. 

 

(506), Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34083, FN 7102-7, as MKT 200. It was assigned UP 506 but was retired on October 9, 1992, and sold to National Ry Equipment Co. They sold it to Virginia Southern as 200 and transferred as Georgia Southwestern 4005.  It was transferred as Alabama & Gulf Coast 4005 in 2004 and sold to Bro-Tex International Metals in October 2011.

507, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34084, FN 7102-8, as MKT 201. It became UP 507 on November 10, 1989, and retired on October 9, 1992. It was sold as MNA as 507 in June 1993.

508, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34085, FN 7102-9, as MKT 202. It became UP 508 on June 9, 1989, and retired on October 9, 1992. It was sold to Railtex in October 1992, as M&NA 508 and was transferred to Dallas Garland & NorthEastern as 508 in March 1996. It was renumbered 4025 in March 1999.

509, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34086, FN 7102-10, as MKT 203.  It became UP 509 on November 13, 1989, and retired on October 9, 1992.  It was sold to Railtex as MNA 509 and renumbered 4009 in 1999.

510, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34087, FN 7102-11, as MKT 204.  It became UP 510 on August 4, 1989, and retired on October 9, 1992.  It was sold to Railtex  as M&NA 510 and wrecked on January 3, 1993.  It was sold for scrap to Erman Corp.

511, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34088, FN 7102-12, as MKT 205.  It became UP 511, Class GP40, on January 18, 1990, and retired on October 9, 1992.  It was sold to Railtex as M&NA 511 in December 1992 and later renumbered 4010.

512, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34089, FN 7102-13, as MKT 206.  It became UP 512, Class GP40, on October 10, 1990, and retired on October 9, 1992.  It was sold to Railtex as M&NA 512 in December 1992. It later became VSO as 512 and later Godrich-Exeter RR 4046.

(513), Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34090, FN 7102-14, as MKT 207.  It was assigned UP 513, Class GP40, but retired on April 19, 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in November 1990, and rebuilt as Southern Pacific 7100, on February 15, 1991, a GP40M-2.  It was assigned Union Pacific 5370, Class GP40M-2, and assigned 1470 but retired.

(514), Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34091, FN 7102-5. as MKT 208.  It was planned as UP 514, Class GP40, but retired on May 15, 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen on May 22, 1990, and rebuilt as SP 7299 on February 15, 1991, a GP40M-2.  It was assigned Union Pacific 5434, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and renumbered 1534 on June 30, 2005.

515, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34092, FN 7102-16, as MKT 209.  It became UP 515, Class GP40, on June 6, 1989, and retired on October 9, 1992.  It was sold to Railtex as M&NA 515 in December 1992.  It became IORY 4011.

(516), Class GP40, was built in October 1968, #34271, FN 7102-17, as MKT 210.  It was planned as UP 516, Class GP40, but retired on January 7, 1992.  It was sold to Phoenix Ry Corp for scrap in February 1992 but rescinded.  It was sold for scrap to Pielet Brothers on March 27, 1992.

581, Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35454, FN 7192-1, as MKT 211.  It became UP 581, Class GP40, on December 15, 1989, and sold to Helm Leasing on December 31, 1997.  It was rebuilt by Boise on February 11, 1998, as UP 2525, Class GP38-3.  It was renumbered 1026 on April 23, 2002, and retired on December 13, 2007.  It was returned as HLCX 1026.

582, Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35455, FN 7192-2, as MKT 212. It became UP 582 on January 16, 1991, and sold to Helm Leasing on May 29, 1998. It was rebuilt by Boise on November 13, 1998, as UP 2556, Class GP38-2. It was assigned as 1056 and returned as HLCX 1056 in May 2010.

584, Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35457, FN 7192-4, as MKT 214.  It became UP 584 on March 19, 1990, and retired on December 28, 1998.  It was sold to Helm Leasing on May 29, 1998, and rebuilt by Boise Locomotive on December 28, 1998, as UP 2558, GP38-2.  It was renumbered 1058 on December 16, 2004.

585, Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35458, FN 7192-5, as MKT 215.  It became UP 585, Class GP40, on May 23, 1989, and sold to Helm Leasing on May 29, 1998.  It was rebuilt by Boise on November 4, 1998, as UP 2559, Class GP38-3.  It was asssigned as 1059 and returned as HLCX 1059 on July 27, 2009.

(586) Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35459, FN 7192-6, as MKT 216.  It was assigned UP 586, Class GP40, but retired on February 6, 1990.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co in May 1990 and sold to Morrison-Knudsen Corp on March 6, 1991.  It was rebuilt as Southern Pacific 7116, Class GP40M-2, on March 24, 1991, and assigned as UP 5386, Class GP40M-2.  It became UP 1486 on December 22, 2003.

(587), Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35460, FN 7192-7, as MKT 217. It was assigned UP 587 but retired on February 28, 1989,  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co in October 9, 1991, and rebuilt it in August 1993 as Nebraska Central RR 4203.  It was sold to Farmrail Corp as FMRC 4203 in December 2011.

588, Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35461, FN 7192-8, as MKT 218.  It became UP 588 on January 25, 1990, and was renumbered 805 on February 19, 1998,  It was sold to Helm Leasing on May 29, 1998, and rebuilt by Boise on December 28, 1998, as UP 2580, Class GP38-2.  It was assigned as 1060.

589, Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35462, FN 7192-9, as MKT 219.  It became UP 589 on December 28, 1989, and sold to Helm Leasing on May 29, 1998.  It was rebuilt by Boise on October 21, 1998, as UP 2561, Class GP38-2.  It was assigned as 1061.

590, Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35463, FN 7192-10, as MKT 220.  It became UP 590, Class GP40, on August 31, 1990, and renumbered 807 on February 4, 1997.  It was sold to Helm Leasing on May 29, 1998, and rebuilt as UP 2563, Class GP38-2, on November 19, 1998.  It was renumbered 1063 on September 9, 2001, and returned to Helm.  It became HLCX 1063 in 2010.

(591), Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35464, FN 7192-11, as MKT 221.  It was assigned UP 591, Class GP40, but retired on February 22, 1989.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in June 1990 and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as St Louis South-Western 7291 ib December 9, 1990, GP40M-2.  It was assigned as UP 5398, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became 1498 on September 5, 2007.

592, Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35466, FN 7192-13, as MKT 223.  It became UP 592, Class GP40, on January 10, 1991, and sold to Helm Leasing Co on May 29, 1998.  It was rebuilt by Boise on October 20, 1998, as UP 2864, Class GP38-3.  It was returned to Helm as HLCX 1064.

593, Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35467, FN 7192-14, as MKT 224.  It became UP 593 on August 20, 1990,  and sold to Helm on May 29, 1998.  It was rebuilt by Boise on October 30, 1998, as UP 2565, Class GP38-2.  It was renumbered 1065 on June 16, 2000.

594, Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35469, FN 7162-15, as MKT 225.  It became UP 594, Class GP40, on September 22, 1989, and sold to Helm on May 29, 1998.  It was rebuilt by Boise on October 20, 1998 as UP 2567, Class GP38-3.  It was returned to Helm as HLCX 1067.

595, Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35469, FN 7192-16, as MKT 226.  It became UP 595 on March 29, 1989, and was renumbered 3000 on February 9, 1991.

597, Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35470, FN 7192-17, as MKT 227.  It became UP 596 on March 29, 1989, and was renumbered 3001 on February 1, 1991.  It was sold to Foster Townsend Rail Logistics as FTRL 3001.

599, Class GP40, was built in November 1969, #35473, FN 7192-20. as MKT 230,  It was scheduled as UP 599 but was retired on February 6, 1990.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment in May 1990 and resold to Morrison Knudsen on March 6, 1991.  It was rebuilt as Southern Pacific 7117, GP40M-2, on May 24, 1991, and was scheduled as Union Pacific 5387 and rescheduled numbering as 1487.

600, Class GP40. was built in September 1966, #32232, FN 7926-1, as Chicago Rock Island & Pacific 340. It became UP 600 on April 16, 1980, and later became Missouri Pacific 600 on June 7, 1985. It was retired June 5, 1991, and sold to National Railway Equipment Co on October 9, 1991.  It was rebuilt as Nebraska Central RR 4204, GP38MAC, in 1993 and sold to Farmrail Corp as FMRC 4204 in December 2011.

603, Class GP40, was built in September 1966, #32235, FN 7926-4, as CRI&P 343.  It became UP 603 on April 7, 1980, and transferred as MP 603 on September 6, 1985.  It was retired on October 6, 1988, and sold to Wilson Ry in November 1988.  It was sold as Intermountain Transportation Services 301 in 1989 and sold to Helm Leasing Co as HLCX 301.  It was rebuilt by AMF as HLCX 4003 on February 3, 1985.  It was leased as Transportacion Ferroviaria Mexicana 1157 after April 1997 and returned as HLCX 4003.

604, Class GP40, was built in September 1966, #32237, FN 7926-5, as CRI&P 344. It became UP 604 on April 8, 1980, and later became MP 604 on April 15, 1985. It was retired August 10, 1987, and sold to Morrison-Knudsen on October 28, 1987. It was rebuilt and became Metro-North Commuter RR 4186 on August 27, 1988.

605, Class GP40, was built in September 1966, #32238, FN 7926-6, as CRI&P 345.  It became UP 605 on March 10, 1981, and later became UP 605 on April 18, 1985.  It was retired October 23. 1991. and sold to Helm Financial on March 17, 1993.

606, Class GP40, was built in September 1966, #32239, FN 7926-8, as CRI&P 346.  It became UP 606, Class GP40, on April 3, 1980, and later became MP 606 on November 24, 1984.  It was retired August 10, 1987, and sold to Morrison Knudsen on October 28, 1987.  It was rebuilt and became New Jersey Transit 4140, GP40FH-2, on May 31, 1989.

610, Class GP40, was built in September 1966, #32243, FN 7926-12, as CRI&P 350. It became UP 610, Class GP40, on April 6, 1980. It was retired August 10, 1987, and sold to Morrison-Knudsen on October 28, 1987. It was rebuilt and became MNCRR 4184 on May 18, 1988.

614, Class GP40, was built in September 1966, #32246, FN 7926-16, as CRI&P 354.  It became UP UP 614, Class GP40, on April 3, 1980, and retired on August 10, 1987.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen on October 28, 1987 and rebuilt as NJT 4144, GP40FH-2, in June 1989.

616, Class GP40 was built on October 1966, #32248, FN 7926-18, as CRI&P 356, It became UP 616, Class GP40, on April 7, 1980, as later MP 616 on April 19, 1985. It was wrecked and retired on February 6, 1990, and scrapped.

622, Class GP40, was built on December 1966, #32590, FN 7942-3, as CRI&P 364. It became UP 622 on April 7, 1980, and later MP 622 on March 11, 1985. It was retired October 9, 1992, and became NRE on March 17, 1993. It became Dakota Minnesota & Eastern 4004 "City of Dodge Center" on September 1994.  It was rebuilt on June 29, 1997, as GP40-3.

628, Class GP40, was built in December 1966, #32597, FN 7942-9, as CRI&P 371. It became UP 628 on April 12, 1980, and then to MP 628 on November 16, 1984. It was retired and sold to Morrison Knudsen on August 10, 1987. It was rebuilt by MK on November 5, 1990, as St Louis South-Western 7274. It was assigned UP 5391 in September 1997 and reassigned 1491 in December 1999.

629, Class GP40, was built in December 1966, #32598, FN 7942-11, as CRI&P 372.  It became UP 629 on April 1, 1980, and then to MP 629 on October 9, 1984.  It was retired on April 10, 1987, and sold to Morrison Knudsen on October 28, 1987.  It was rebuilt as MNCRR 4188 on October 30, 1990.

631, Class GP40, was built in March 1970, #36386, FN 7263-1, as CRI&P 4700. It became UP 631 in June 1983 and later MP 631 in November 9, 1989. It was retired October 8, 1992, and became NRE in March 17, 1993. It later became DM&E 4005 "City of Ft Pierre" in September 1994 and rebuilt in 1999 as 4005 "Larry Pressler".

632, Class GP40, was built in March 1970, #36387, FN 7263-2, as CRI&P 4701. It became UP 632 in April 2, 1980, and later MP 632 on July 26, 1985. It was retired May 29, 1992, and became NRE in March 17, 1993. It later became M&NA 632.

636, Class GP40, as built in March 1970, #36391, FN 7263-6, as CRI&P 4705. It became UP 636 on April 3, 1980, and retired on October 23, 1991.  It was sold to NRE on March 17, 1993. They sold it to M&NA as 636 in 1993 and renumbered 4014.

637, Class GP40, was built in March 1970, #36392, FN 7263-7, as CRI&P 4706. It became UP 637 on April 14, 1980, and later MP 637 on May 10, 1985. It was retired October 26, 1988, and became VMV Enterprises on January 28, 1989. It then became Helm Leasing on 1989 and then UP 856 on July 14, 1989. It was rebuilt as GP38-2 by Boise in July 1998 as UP 2533 on July 25, 1993. It then as UP 1033 on August 27, 2001.

639, Class GP40, was built in March 1970, #37394, FN 7263-9, as CRI&P 4708.  It became UP 639 on April 5, 1980, and MP 639 on September 23, 1985.  It was retired on October 23, 1991, and sold to Helm Financial on March 27, 1992.

640, Class GP40, was built in March 1970, #36395, FN 7263-10, as CRI&P 4709.  It became UP 640 on April 23, 1980, and retired on October 23. 1991.  It was sold to NRE on 17 March 1993 and sold to Railtex as MN&A 640.  It was renumbered 4015.

642, Class GP40, was built in April 1970, #36397, FN 7263-12, as CRI&P 4711. It was assigned as UP 642 and became MP 642 on June 5, 1985, and stored as UP 642 in March 1990.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co on March 17, 1993, and sold as M&NA 642.  It was renumbered 4012.

643, Class GP40, was built in April 1970, #36398, FN 7263-13, as CRI&P 4712,  It became UP 643 on April 29, 1980, and retired on August 21, 1991,  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co on October 9, 1991, and sold to Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern 4002 "City of New Richland" in September 1994.

645, Class GP40, was built in April 1970, #36400, FN 7263-15, as CRI&P 4714. It became UP 645 on April 4, 1980, and later MP 645 on February 20, 1985, and later UP 645 on January 25, 1990. It was retired on October 23, 1993, and became NRE on March 17, 1993. It became M&NA 645 and renumbered 4045.

646, Class GP40, was built in April 1970, #36401, FN 7263-16, as CRI&P 4715.  It became UP 646 on April 10, 1980, and retired on August 10, 1987.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen and rebuilt as a GP40FH-2 New Jersey Transit 4141 on May 19, 1989.

651, Class GP40. was built in May 1966, #31662, FN 7378-1, as Western Pacific 3501, Class RS-68.  It became Union Pacific 651, Class GP-40, on December 30, 1983, and transferred as Missouri Pacific 651 on May 22, 1985.  It was returned as UP 651 on April 17, 1988, and retired on April 5, 1993.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as Kansas City Southern 4765 on November 12, 1993, GP40-3.  It was renumbered 2806 in 2005.

652, Class GP40, was built in May 1966, #31663, FN 7378-2, as WP 3502, Class RS-68. It became UP 652, Class GP40, on January 9, 1984, and was retired April 5, 1993. It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on November 20, 1993, as KCS 4766, GP40-3.

653, Class GP40, was built in May 1966, #31664, FN 7878-3, as WP 3503, Class RS-68.  It became UP 653, Class GP40, on April 18, 1984, and retired on April 5, 1993.  It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on November 20, 1993, as KCS 4767, GP40-3.  It was renumbered 2808 in 2005.

654, Class GP40, was built in May 1966, #31665, FN 7878-4, as WP 3504, Class RS-68.  It became UP 654, Class GP40, on January 20, 1984, and retired on April 5, 1993.  It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on December 9, 1993, as KCS 4768, GP40-3.  It was renumbered 2809 in 2005.

656, Class GP40, was built in May 1966, #31668, FN 7878-7, as WP 3507, Class RS-68.  It became UP 656, Class GP40, on May 9, 1984, and retired on April 5, 1993.  It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on November 6, 1993 as KCS 4770.  It was rebuilt 2811 in 2005.

665, Class GP40, was built in April 1967, #33061, FN 7981-6, as WP 3516, Class RS-68.  It became UP 665, Class GP40, on April 6, 1984, and transferred as MP 665 on May 23, 1985.  It was returned as UP 665 on March 12, 1988, and retired on April 5, 1993.  It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on January 27, 1994, as KCS 4779 and renumbered 2824 in 2005.

1st (667), Class GP40,was built in August 1970, #36825, FN 7272-7, as WP 3518, Class RS-68.  It was assigned UP 667 and retired on August 20, 1985.  It was returned to Helm Financial Corp, and in April 1987 it became Chicago Missouri & Western 3001. It became Gateway Western in January 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in July 1990 and rebuilt as St Louis Southwestern 7277, GP40M-2, on November 12, 1990.  It became UP 1494, Class GP40M-2, on October 17, 2005.

2nd 667, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34283, FN 7127-2, as PC 3106, Class EF-30.  It became Conrail 3106, Class GP-40, in April 1972 and sold as MKT 3106 in 1983.  It was renumbered 232 in 1983 and became UP 667, Class GP-40, on June 19, 1990.  It was assigned as 9951 but retired on May 12, 2000.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co.

(668), Class GP40, was built in August 1970, #36826, FN 7272-3, as WP 3519, Class RS-68. It was assigned Union Pacific as 668 and retired on August 31, 1985. It was returned to Helm Financial Corp, and in April 1987 it became Chicago Missouri & Western 3002. It became Gateway Western 3002 in January 1990. It was sold to Wilson Ry Corp in September 1990 and then to Wisconsin Central Ltd as 3002 in December 1990.

(669), Class GP40, was built in August 1970, #36827, FN 7272-4, as WP 3520, Class RS-68. It was assigned UP as 669 and retired on August 31, 1985. It was returned to Helm Financial Corp, and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3003. It became GW in January 1990. It was sold to Wilson Ry Corp in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3003 in December 1990.  It was retired on December 17, 2006, and sold.

1st (670), Class GP40, was built in August 1970, #36828, FN 7272-5, as WP 3521, Class RS-68.  It was assigned UP as 670, Class GP-40, and retired on August 20, 1985.  It was returned to Helm Financial Corp, and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3004.  It became GW 3004 in January 1990,  It was sold to Wilson Ry Corp in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3004 in December 1990.  It was sold to Canon City & Royal Gorge RR as CRRX 3104.

670, Class GP40,  was built in August 1968, #34286, FN 7127-7, as Penn Central 3109, Class EF-30. It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 3109, Class GP-40, in April 1976, as Missouri-Kansas-Texas in 3109 as 1983. It was renamed as 235 in 1983 and then as UP 670, Class GP-40, in 1989.  It was retired on April 18, 2000, and was renumbered 9953 on April 27, 2000, before it was removed.

(671), Class GP40, was built in August 1970, #36783, FN 7272-1, as WP 3522, Class RS-68. It was assigned UP as 671 and retired on August 31, 1985. 1st (672), Class GP40, was built in August 1970, #36784, FN 7272-2, as WP 3523, Class RS-68.  It was assigned UP as 672, Class GP-40, and retired on August 20, 1985.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3009. It became GW 3009 in January 1990. It was sold to Wilson in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3006 in December 1990.  It was sold to Progress Rail in 2012 and sold as Bulkmatic Transport Co 006 in December 2013.

2nd 672, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34288, FN 7127-7, as PC 3111, Class EF-30. It became Conrail 3111, Class GP-40, in April 1976, as Missouri-Kansas-Texas in 3111 as 1983. It was renumbered as 237 in 1983 and then as UP as 672 in September 15, 1989. It was renumbered as 9955 on September 20, 2002, and renumbered 1337 on July 31, 2008.  It was sold to Larry's Truck Equipment in July 2010 and rebuilt to GP40-3 as Ann Arbor RR 1337 in November 2011.  It was sold to Webb Asset Management Co as WAMX 4049.

(673), Class GP40, was built in August 1970, #36785, FN 7272-3, as WP 3524, Class RS-68.  It was assigned UP as 673 and retired on August 20, 1985.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3007.  It became GW 3007 in January 1990.  It was sold to Wilson in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3007 in November 1990.

(674), Class GP40, was built in August 1970, #36786, FN 7272-4, as WP 3525, Class RS-68.  It was assigned UP as 674, Class GP-40, and retired on August 20, 1985.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3008.  It became GW 3008 in January 1990.  It was sold as Kansas City Southern 3150 and renumbered 2700.  It was sold to Utah RR 2700 and renumbered 3002.

(675), Class GP40, was built in August 1970, #36787, FN 7272-5, as WP 3526, Class RS-68. It was assigned UP as 675 and retired on August 31, 1985. It was retired to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3009. It became GW on 3005 in January 1990. It was sold to Wilson in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3009 in November 1990.

1st 676, Class GP40, was built in August 1971, #37839, FN 7332-2, as WP 3528, Class RS-86. It became UP 676 in August 1985 and sold to Helm Leasing Corp in September 30, 1986. It was sold to CM&W as 676 in April 1987 and renumbered 3011. It became GW 3011 in January 1990 and later to Wilson Ry Corp in September 1990. It was then sold to WCLtd as 3011 in November 1990.   It was sold as PRLX 3011 in 2008 and rebuilt by Progress Rail as 24, PR24B, in 2016, #7332-2

2nd 676, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34297, FN 7127-16, as PC 3120, Class EF-30.  It became Conrail 3120, Class GP-40, in April 1976 and sold as MKT 3120 in 1983.  It was renumbered 241 in 1984 and became UP 676, Class GP40, on May 1, 1990.  It was retired on May 25, 2001, and sold to National Railway Equipment Co.  It was rebuilt in 2006 as Burlington Northern Santa Fe 2009, Class GP38-2.

1st (677), Class GP40, was built in August 1971, #37840, FN 7332-3, as WP 3529, Class RS-68. It was assigned UP 677, Class GP40, and retired on September 30, 1986. It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W as 3012. It became GW on 3012 in January 1990. It was sold to Wilson in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3012 in November 1990.

2nd 677, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34299, FN 7127-19, as PC 3122, Class EF-30.  It became Conrail 3122, Class GP-40, in April 1976 and sold as MKT 3122 in 1938.  It was renumbered 242 in 1984 and became UP 677, Class GP40, on September 18, 1989.  It was assigned as 9959 in December 1999 but renumbered WP 677 on May 8, 2001.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment on March 14, 2002.  It was sold as Southwestern RR 677.

678, Class GP40, was built in September 1968, #34310, FN 7127-29, as PC 3133, Class EF-30.  It became Conrail 3133, Class GP-40, in April 1976 and sold as MKT 3133 in 1983.  It was renumbered 243 in 1984 and became UP 678, Class GP-40, on October 19, 1989.  It was renumbered 9960 on March 9, 2000, and retired on May 25, 2001. It was sold as National Railway Equipment Co as NREX 9960 and rebuilt at GEC-Alstom as Great Canadian Railtour RMRX 8015, GP40-2R.

679, Class GP40, was built in September 1968, #34316, FN 7127-35, as PC 3139, Class EF-30, a GP40.  It became Conrail 3139, Class GP-40, in April 1976 and sold as MKT 3139 in 1983.  It was renumbered 244 in 1984 and became UP 679 on July 13, 1989.  It was renumbered 9961 on March 13, 2000, and retired on May 25, 2001.  It was sold as NREX 9961 and rebuilt in 2006 as BNSF 2007, Class GP38-2.

680, Class GP40, was built in August 1971, #37843, FN 7332-6, as WP 3532, Class RS-68.  It became UP 680, Class GP40, on December 8, 1983, and retired on September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3015.  It became GW 3015 in January 1990 and sold to Wilson in September 1990.  It was sold to WCLtd as 3015 in November 1990 and was wrecked at Green Bay on January 24, 1995.

1st 681, Class GP40, was built in August 1971, #37844, FN 7332-7, as WP 3533, Class RS-68.  It became UP 681, Class GP40, in August 1985, and retired in September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3016.  It became GW 3016 in January 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in July 1990 and rebuilt as SSW 7279, GP40M-2, on November 30, 1990.  It was assigned 1496, Class GP40M-2, but apparently never done.

2nd 681, Class GP40, was built in September 1968, #34329, FN 7127-48, as PC 3152, Class EF-30. It became CR 3152, Class GP-40, as April 1976, as MKT in 3152 in 1983. It was renamed as 246 and then as UP as 681 in February 1, 1991. It was retired in April 14, 2000, and became Sharpsville Container Co 681.

(682), Class GP40, was built in August 1971, #37845, FN 7332-8, as WP 3534, Class RS-68.  It was assigned UP as 682 and retired on September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W as 3017.  It became GW 3017 in January 1990 and sold to Wilson in September 1990.  It was sold to WCLtd as 3017 in November 1990.

684, Class GP40, was built in August 1968, #34282, FN 7127-1, as PC 3105, Class EF-30. It became Conrail 3105, Class GP-40, in April 1976, as MKT in 3105 as 1983. It was renamed as 231 in 1983 and then as UP 666, Class GP-40, in July 12, 1989.  It was renumbered 684 on April 3, 1993.  It was renumbered 9966 on July 24, 2000, and retired on May 25, 2001.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co and rebuilt on June 20, 2006, as BNSF 2006, Class GP38-2.

(685), Class GP40, was built in September 1971, #37848, FN 7332-11, as WP 3537, Class RS-68. It was assigned UP 685 but was retired on September 1986 and returned to GATX. It went to CM&W as 3020 in April 1987 and became GW 3020 in 1990.

686, Class GP40,  was built in September 1971, #37849, FN 7332-12, as WP 3538, Class RS-68.    It became UP 686 in August 1985  and retired on September 30, 1986.  It was sold as CM&W 3021 in April 1987 and became GW 3021 in January 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in 1990 and rebuilt on November 30, 1990 as SSW 7280.  It was assigned as UP 5397 in September 1997 and became UP 1497 on August 6, 2004.

(688), Class GP40, was built in September 1971, #37852, FN 7332-15 as WP 3541, Class RS-68. It was numbered 1976 for a short time.  It was assigned as UP 688, Class GP40, and retired on September 30, 1986. It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3023. It became GW 3023 in January 1990. It was sold to Wilson in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3023 in December 1990.  It was sold to Progress Rail Services and leased to Harbor Rail Services as HRSX 3002.

(689), Class GP40, was built in September 1971, #37853, FN 7332-16, as WP 3542, Class RS-68.  It was assigned as UP 689, Class GP-40, but retired on September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3024.  It became GW 3024 in January 1990.  It was sold to Wilson in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3024 in December 1990.

690, Class GP40, was built in September 1971, #37854, FN 7332-17, as WP 3543, Class RS-68.  It became UP 690, Class GP40, in August 1985 and retired on September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3025.  It became GW 3025 in January 1990 and sold to Wilson in September 1990.  It was sold as WCLtd as 3025 in December 1990 and retired on February 15, 2008.  It was sold to Rail & Motor International Ltd as RIMX 3025 in 2008 and sold to Montana Rail Link as 3025 in July 2009.  It was outshopped as 500 in September 2014.

(691), Class GP40, was built in September 1971, #37855, FN 7332-18, as WP 3544, Class RS-68.  It was assigned as UP 691, Class GP40, and retired on September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3010.  It became GW 3010 in January 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in 1990 and rebuilt on November 30, 1990 as SSW 7276.  It was assigned as UP 5395, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became UP 1495 on October 29, 2003.

(693), Class GP40, was built in December 1965, #30955, FN 7831-19, as New York Central 3018, Class EF-30.  It became Penn Central 3018, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Consolidated Railroad Corp 3018, Class GP-40, in April 1976.  It was sold to Precision National Corp in July 1980 and as Chicago & North Western 5508 in July 1981.   It was assigned as UP 639 in August 1995 and reassigned 693 in December 1997 but retired on May 15, 2000.  It was sold and rebuilt as Paducah & Louisville 2115.

(695), Class GP40, was built in December 1965, #30957, FN 7831-21, as NYC 3020, Class EF-30, It became PC 3020, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Conrail 3020, Class GP-40, in April 1976.  It was sold to Precision National Corp in July 1980 and as C&NW 5510 in July 1981.  It was assigned as UP 641 in August 1995 and reassigned 695 in December 1997 but retired on July 25, 2000.

(704), Class GP40, was built in December 1965, #30969, FN 7831-33, as NYC 3032, Class EF-30.  It became PC 3032, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Conrail 3032, Class GP-40, in April 1976.  It was sold to Precision National Corp in July 1980 and as C&NW 5521 in July 1981.  It was assigned as UP 650 in August 1995 and reassigned 704 in December 1997 and reassigned as 9976 but retired on July 17, 2001.  It was rebuilt by National Railway Equipment as GP38-3 in November 2003 as Kankakee Beaverville & Southern 701.

(707), Class GP40, was built in November 1965, #30973, FN 7831-37, as NYC 3036, Class EF-30.  It became PC 3036, Class EF-30, in 1968 and Conrail 3036, Class GP-40, in April 1976.  It was sold to Precision National Corp in July 1980 and as C&NW 5525 in July 1981.  It was assigned as UP 653 in August 1995 and reassigned 707 in December 1997.  It was retired in 2000.

(712), Class GP40, was built in November 1965, #30979, FN 7851-8 as NYC 3043, Class EF-30.  It became PC 3043, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Conrail 3043, Class GP-40, in April 1976.  It was sold to Precision National Corp in July 1980 and as C&NW 5531 in July 1981. It was assigned as UP 658 in August 1995 and reassigned 712 in December 1997 and assigned 9984 but retired on May 15, 2000.  It was rebuilt as P&L 2119.

(714), Class GP40, was built in December 1965, #30982, FN 7851-11, as NYC 3045, Class EF-30.  It became PC 3045, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Conrail 3045, Class GP-40, in April 1976.  It was sold to Precision National Corp in July 1980 and as C&NW 5533 in July 1981.  It was assigned as UP 660 in August 1995 and reassigned 714 in December 1997 and assigned 9986 but retired on May 15, 2000.  It was rebuilt as PAL 2121.

(723), Class GP40, was built in February 1967, #32886, FN 7956-7, as Denver & Rio Grande Western 3075. Class DE B-B 65, a GP40.  It was reclassified as Class EF430D-2 and assigned as UP 723.  It was not renumbered before it was retired on May 25, 2001.  It was sold as National Railway Equipment Co 3075 in January 2002 and rebuilt as GP38-2.

 

852, Class GP40, was built in February 1966, #31468, FN 5697-28, as Illinois Central 3012.  It was sold to Helm and leased as UP 852, Class GP40, on May 5, 1989.  It was returned to Helm and rebuilt by Boise Locomotive as 2529, Class GP38-3, on August 21, 1998.  It was retired and became Helm Leasing HLCX 1029 on November 5, 2009.

854, Class GP40, was built in January 1966, #31448, FN 5697-8, as IC 3032.  It was sold to Helm and leased as UP 854, Class GP40, on June 10, 1989.  It was returned to Helm and rebuilt by Boise Locomotive as 2531, Class GP38-3, on August 15, 1998.  It was retired and became HLCX 1031 on December 8, 2009.

859, Class GP40 was built in May 1966, #31767, FN 7885-1, as Seaboard Air Line RR 600. It became Seaboard Coast Line 1515 in July 1967 and later became Seaboard System RR 1515. It was renumbered 6672 and later became CSX Transportation 6672, Class GP-40. It was sold to VMV Enterprises who rebuilt it as UP 859. It was later renumbered 2536.

864, Class GP40,  was built in October 1966, #32304, FN 7924-11, as Chicago Milwaukee St Paul & Pacific 196, Class 30E-RS.  It was renumbered 2022 in 1968 and became Soo Line RR 2022 in 1985.  It was retired in February 1989.  It was sold to Helm Leasing and leased as UP 864, Class GP40, on February 15, 1989.  It was retired on July 23, 1998, and returned to Helm.  It was rebuilt as HLCX 4416, GP40-3, and rebuilt to Webb Asset Management as WAMX 4037 in March 2006.

872, Class GP40, was built in August 1967, #33238, FN 7987-25, as NYC 3074, Class EF-30.  as New York Central 3074, Class EF-30.  It became Penn Central 3074, Class EF-30, in 1968 and Consolidated Railroad Corp 3074, Class GP-40, in April 1976.   It was sold to Helm Leasing as HL 3074 and rebuilt as UP 872, GP-40, on February 6, 1989.  It was returned to Helm and rebuilt by Boise on February 8, 1999, as Union Pacific 2543, Class GP38-3.  It was planned as 1043 but returned as HLCX 1043 in 2010.

875, Class GP40, was built in January 1967, #32481, FN 7936-12 as CMStP&P 164, Class 30E-RS.  It was renumbered 2037 in 1968 and became Soo Line2037 in 1985.  It was retired in February 1989.  It was sold to Helm Leasing and leased as UP 875, Class GP40, on November 28, 1989.  It was returned to Helm and rebuilt as UP 2546, GP38-2, on September 22, 1998.  It was renumbered 1046 on September 14, 2001, and returned as HLCX 1046 in 2011.

876, Class GP40, was built in October 1966, #32299, FN 7924-6, as CMStP&P 179, Class 30ERS.  It was renumbered 2017 in 1968 and became Soo Line 2017 in 1985.  It was retired in February 1989.  It was sold to Helm Leasing and leased as UP 876 on December 3. 1989.  It was returned to Helm and rebuilt as UP 2547, GP38-2, on December 31, 1998.  It was renumbered 1047 on July 13, 2001, and returned as HLCX 1047 in 2010.

878, Class GP40, was built in January 1967, #32488, FN 7936-19, as CMStP&P 171, Class 30ERS. In 1968 it was renumbered 2044 and later became Soo Line RR 2044. It was sold to Helm Leasing as 2044 and later rebuilt as UP 878. It was retired on July 23, 1998, and retired to Helm.  It was sold as Florida East Coast Ry 452 in January 1999.

884, Class GP40, was built in October 1967, #33512, FN 7064-22, as NYC 3101, Class EF-30.  It became PC 3101, Class EF-30, in 1968 and Conrail 3101, Class GP-40, in April 1976.  It was sold as Chrome Locomotive Co 3101 in March 1983 and them as Kyle RR 3101.  It was sold to Helm and sold as UP 884, Class GP-40, on January 10, 1990.  It was rebuilt as UP 2553, Class GP38-2, on December 2, 1998, and renumbered as 1053 on November 2, 2001.  It was returned as HLCX 1053 on October 22, 2009.
