Electro-Motive GP40 Diesels

3000, GP40, was built in February 1966, #31480, FN 5497-40.  It was wrecked at Harvey, IL, on October 12, 1979.

3003, GP40, was built in February 1966, #31477, FN 5697-37. It was rebuilt at Paducah in January 1988 as 3106.

3006, GP40, was built February 1966, 31474, FN 5697-34.  It was wrecked on March 11, 1975 and rebuilt as 3035.  It was rebuilt at Paducah in January 1989 as 3119 and stored to Transcona on November 9, 2000.  It was rebuilt for Locomotive Leasing Partners as LLPX 2259, a GP38-2, in 2005.

3009, GP40, was built in February 1966, #31471, FN 5697-31. It was rebuilt at Paducah in 1989 as 3133.

3011, GP40, was built in February 1966, #31469, FN 5697-29. It was rebuilt at Paducah in March 1988 as 3109.

3012, GP40, was built in February 1966, #31468, FN 5697-28.  It was sold to Helm and leased as Union Pacific 852, Class GP40, on May 5, 1989.  It was returned to Helm and rebuilt by Boise Locomotive as UP 2529, Class GP38-3, on August 21, 1998.  It was retired to Helm Leasing and became HLCX 1029 on November 5, 2009.

3013, GP40, was built in February 1966, #31467, FN 5697-27. It was rebuilt at Paducah in March 1988 as 3108.

3014, GP40, was built in January 1966, #31466, FN 5697-26.  It was rebuilt at Paducah in April 1991 as 3135 and rebuilt as LLPX 2267, a GP38-2 in 2005.

3016, GP40, was built in January 1966, #31464, FN 5697-24.  It was rebuilt at Paducah in June 1991 as 3137.

3018, GP40 was built in January 1966, #31462, FN 5697-22.  It was rebuilt at Paducah in November 1987 as 3101.

3031, GP40, was built in January 1966, #31449, FN 5697-9. It was rebuilt at Paducah in February 1989 as 3117.

3032, GP40, was built in January 1966, #31448, FN 5697-8.  It was sold to Helm and leased as UP 854, Class GP40, on June 10, 1989.  It was returned to Helm and rebuilt by Boise Locomotive as 2531, Class GP38-3, on August 15, 1998.  It was retired and became HLCX 1031 on December 8, 2009.

3033, GP40, was built in January 1966, #31447, FN 5697-7.  It was rebuilt at Paducah in November 1988 as 3118 and rebuilt as LLPX 2274, GP38-2, in 2005.  It was sold to General American Transportation Co as GMTX 2196.

3035, GP40, was built in January 1966, #31445, FN 5697-5. It was rebuilt at Paducah in December 1974 as 3076. It was retired in April 1991 and sold to Kustom Karr.  It was sold as Ohio Central as 3254.  It was sold to Larry's Truck Equipment as LTEX 3254.

3036, GP40, was built in January 1966, #31444, FN 5697-4. It was rebuilt at Paducah in September 1988 as 3120.

3041, GP40, was built in February 1967, #32861, FN 5723-2. It became Kansas City Southern 778 in March 1982.

3045, GP40, was built in February 1967, #32865, FN 5723-7. It later became ICG 3045. It was sold to KCS as 781 in April 1982. In 1991 it was traded to Morrison Knudsen who rebuilt it as GP38-3 in 1996 and sold it to Dakota Minnesota & Eastern as 3830 "City of Meridian" in September 1996. It was wrecked in May 1999 and rebuilt by Boise Locomotive in October 1999.

3049, GP40, was built in February 1967, #32869, FN 7959-1. It became KCS 785 in March 1982. It was retired in 1991 and rebuilt at AMF in 1997 as Roberval & Saguenay 63.

3054, GP40, was built in February 1967, #32874, FN 7960-3.  It was sold as KCS 790 in March 1982 and wrecked on November 2, 1983.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen and rebuilt as Maryland Area Regional Commuter 64 in 1994.  It was sold to MPI and rebuilt as SunRail 101 in September 2013.

3055, GP40,was built in February 1967, #32875, FN 7960-4.  It was sold as KCS 791 in March 1982 and sold to Morrison Knudsen.  It was rebuilt as GP40WH-2 as MARC 65 in 1994.  It was sold to MPI and rebuilt as SunRail 104 in April 2014.

3065, GP40, was built in August 1969, #34962, FN 7171-6. It was rebuilt at Paducah in 1991 as 3139.

3068, GP40, was built in August 1969, #34965, FN 7171-9. It was rebuilt at Paducah in October 1988 as 3128.

3071, GP40, was built in February 1970, #36167, FN 5759-2. It was rebuilt at Paducah in March 1978 as 3070 and again rebuilt in June 1989 as 3134.

3072, GP40, was built in February 1970, #36168, FN 5759-3.  It was sold to Helm Leasing as 3072 and rebuilt as Amtrak 656. It was later returned to Helm as 656 and later renumbered 4403.  It was sold to WATCo as WAMX 4038.

3075, GP40X, was built in May 1965, #29877, FN 5674-1, as General Motors demonstrator 433A. It was purchased by IC as 3075 in November 1970. It was wrecked in January 1974 and rebuilt at Paducah as 2550, GP35, on December 31, 1974.
