Kyle Railroad

13 "Santa Rosa" was built by Pullman in 1917 as El Paso & Southwestern 500.  It became Southern Pacific 128 "Santa Rosa" in 1924 and rebuilt in 1937.  It was sold as Yreka Western 68 on March 18, 1968, and was transferred as Kyle Ry 13 in May 1993.   It was sold to an individual in 2004 and moved to Port of Redwood City.  It was repainted as Pullman and renumbered RPCX 415, "Niles".  It was sold to Oregon Pacific RR as 128 "Santa Rosa" in 2011.

101, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1954, #19110, FN 5320-20, as Union Pacific 224.  It was retired in February 1979 and sold to Morrison Knudsen on October 1, 1979.  It was rebuilt on March 21, 1980, as San Diego & Arizona Eastern 101 and later transferred as Kyle 101.  It later was transferred as San Joaquin Valley RR 101 and sold to Western Rail Inc as 1761.  It later became Lake County RR 1761 in October 2005.

1101, SW8, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1953, #18356, FN 4179-10, as Southern Pacific 4621, Class DF-303.  It was reclassified Class DS-603 in 1963 and renumbered 1126, Class ES408-3, in 1966.  It was sold as SD&AE 1126 and later transferred as Kyle 1126.  It was later renumbered 1101.

1111, SW8, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1953, #17333, FN 4180-3, as SP 4606, Class DF-302.  It was reclassified Class DS-602 in 1963 and became SP 1111, Class ES408-2, in 1966.  It was sold as Kyle 1111 and scrapped in 1994.

1500, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1953, #17979, FN 5184-9, as Pittsburgh & Lake Erie 5733, Class DRS-4L.  It was reclassified Class ERS-15 in 1966 and renumbered 1504 in December 1971.  It was sold to Monongahela Ry as 1500 in December 1975.  It was then leased to North Texas Central as 1500 in July 1982.  It was later sold to Cimarron River Valley Ry as 1500 and then to Kyle as 1500.  It was then transferred to Natchez Trace RR as 1511.

1756, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1956, #21382, FN 5436-24, as Southern Pacific 5689, Class DF-607.  It was renumbered 3522, Class EF418-6, in 1966 and rebuilt as 3374, Class EF418-2, in 1988.  It was later sold to Kyle as 1756.

1757, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1954, #19467, as Texas & New Orleans 406, Class DF-600.  It was renumbered SP 3406, Class EF418-1, in 1966, and rebuilt as 3389, Class EF418E-2, in 1973.  It was sold to Kyle as 1757.

1825, GP28, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1964, #28938, as Illinois Central 9430.  It was sold as Iowa RR 9430 in February 1983 and sold as Iowa Interstate RR 9430.  It was then sold as Kyle 1825.

1826, GP28, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1964, #28939, as IC 9431.  It was sold as Iowa RR 9431 in February 1983 and sold as IASR 9431.  It was then sold as Kyle 1826.

2035, GP20, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1962, #27102, as Southern Pacific 7215, Class DF-617.  It was renumbered 4065, Class EF420-1, in 1966 and rebuilt as 4100, Class EF420-2, in 1988.  It was sold as Kyle 2035 and later transferred as San Joaquin Valley 2035.

2038, GP20, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1962, #27106, as SP 7219, Class DF-617.  t was renumbered 4069, Class EF420-1, in 1966 and rebuilt at Houston as 4116, Class EF420-R02, on May 27, 1977.  It was retired on December 17, 1986.  It was sold as Kyle 2038 and transferred as San Pedro & Southwestern 2038.  It was transferred as SJVR 2038 and sold to Bro-Tex International Metals in October 2011.

2039, GP20, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1961, #26308, as St Louis South-Western 804, Class Z20.  It was renumbered 4034, Class EF420C-1, in 1966 and rebuilt as 4143, Class EF420-S02, in 1976.  It was sold as Kyle 2039 and later transferred as SWKR 2039.  It was sold as Arizona Eastern Ry 2039.

2042, GP20, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1961, #26313, FN 7595-10, as SSW 809, Class Z20B-B.  It was renumbered 4039, Class EF420C-1, in 1966 and rebuilt at Sacramento as 4139, Class EF420-S01, on February 14, 1975.  It was retired on March 14, 1991, and sold as Kyle 2042.  It was transferred as San Joaquin Valley RR 2042 and sold to Bro-Tex International Metals in October 2011.

2043, GP20, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1961, #26943, FN 7611-1, as SSW 810, Class Z20B-B.  It was renumbered 4040, Class EF420C-2, in 1966 and rebuilt at Sacramento as 4149, Class EF420-S02, on November 30, 1977.  It was retired on April 29, 1991, and sold as Kyle 2043.  It was transferred as SJVR 2043 and sold to Bro-Tex International Metals in October 2011.

2170, GP20, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1960, #25703, FN 7583-16, as Great Northern 2015, Class GP-20.  It became Burlington Northern 2015, Class GP-20, in 1970, and retired in August 1985.  It was sold to Smith Brothers in October 1985 and then as Kyle 2170.  It was later sold as AZER 2170.

2171, GP20, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1960, #26291, FN 7594-6, as GN 2023, Class GP-20.  It became BN 2023, Class GP-20, in 1970, and retired in December 1985.  It was sold to Smith in February 1986 and then as Kyle 2171.

2202, GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1963, #28110, FN 7643-3, as Pennsylvania RR 2202.  It became Penn Central 2202, Class EF-22, in 1968, and Consolidated Railroad Corp 2202, Class GP-30, in April 1976. It was sold as Kyle RR 2202 in 1993 and sold as Alabama & Gulf Coast 2202.  It was sold as Conrad Yelvington Distributors as CYXX 2109 and relettered as CYDZ 2109.

3100, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1967, #33511, as New York Central 3100, Class EF-30.  It became Penn Central 3100, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Consolidated Railroad Corp 3100, Class GP-40, in April 1976.  It was sold as Chrome Locomotive Co 3100 and then as Kyle 3100.  It was later sold as Buffalo & Pittsburgh 3100.

3102, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1967, #33507, as NYC 3096, Class EF-30.  It became PC 3096, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Conrail 3096, Class GP-40, in April 1976.  It was sold to Kyle as 3102 and later sold as B&PRR 3102.

3105, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1967, #33491, as NYC 3080, Class EF-30.  It became PC 3080, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Conrail 3080, Class GP-40, in April 1976.  It was sold to Kyle as 3080 and renumbered 3105 in 1986.  It was wrecked and scrapped in 1986.

3106, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1969, #35063, as General Motors Corp 2071.  It was sold as Chicago Milwaukee St Paul & Pacific 2071, Class 30E-RS, in 1969 and in November 1984 it was sold Chrome Locomotive.  It was sold as Kyle RR 2071 and renumbered 3106.  It was sold as B&PRR 3106.

3108, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1967, #33499, as NYC 3088, Class EF-30. It became PC 3088, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Conrail 3088, Class GP-40, in April 1976. It was sold to Kyle as 3108 and later to Helm Leasing as 3108. It was rebuilt as Amtrak 651 and later returned to Helm as 651. It was renumbered 4406.

3110, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1968, #34331, as PC 3154, Class EF-30. It became Conrail 3154, Class GP-40, in April 1976, and was later sold to Kyle as 3110. In 1994 it was sold to Helm and rebuilt at Loveland as 3110, "The Stephen D Whitham". It was later renumbered 4400.

3112, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1968, #34342, as PC 3165, Class EF-30. It became Conrail 3165, Class GP-40, in April 1976 and sold as Conrail Leasing Co 3165.  It later was sold as Arkansas & Missouri as 62 and then was sold to Kyle as 3112. It was later sold to Helm as 3112 and was rebuilt as Boise in October 1996. It then was sold as Dakota Minnesota & Eastern 3835 "City of Tyler", GP38-3, on October 4, 1996.

3116, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1967, #33494, as NYC 3083, Class EF-30. It became Penn Central 3083, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Conrail 3083, Class GP-40, in April 1976. It was sold to A&M as 3083 and then sold to Kyle as 3116. It was sold to Helm as 3116 and rebuilt as Amtrak 654 and later returned to Helm as 654. It was later renumbered 4407 and sold as Webb Asset Management 4043.

4240, C424, was built by Alco in June 1964, #3381-01, as Spokane Portland & Seattle 300. It became Burlington Northern 4240, Class C-424, in 1970. It was retired and sold to Chrome Locomotive in August 1980, and then to Kyle as 4240. It was later sold to Arkansas & Missouri for parts.

4243, C424, was built by Alco in June 1964, #3381-04, as SP&S 303.  It became BN 4243, Class C-424, in 1970 and sold as Kyle 4243 in 1980.  It was then sold as Massachusetts Central 4243 and then Adirondack Scenic RR 4243.

4252, C425, was built by Alco in June 1965, #3423-03, as SP&S 312.  It became BN 4252, Class C-425, in 1970 and was retired and sold to Chrome in August 1980.  It then went as Kyle 4252 and later sold to Indiana Hi-Rail as 325.

4255, C425, was built by Alco in July 1965, #3423-06, as SP&S 315.  It became BN 4255, Class C-425, in 1970 and was retired and sold to Chrome in August 1980.  It then went as Kyle 4255 and later sold to IHR as 326.

4256, C425, was built by Alco in August 1965, #3423-07, as SP&S 316.  It became BN 4256, Class C-425, in 1970.  It was retire and sold to Chrome in August 1980.  It was sold as Kyle 4256 and sold for scrap to St Louis Auto Shredding Co in August 1988.

4258, C425, was built by Alco in May 1966, #3461-01, as SP&S 318. It became BN 4258, Class C-425, in 1970. It was retired and sold to Chrome in August 1980, and then to Kyle as 4258. It was later sold to A&M for parts.  It was sold as Massachusetts Central RR 4258 and sold as Shoreline Locomotive 2556.  It was sold as Bay Colony Ry 2501 and transferred as Seminole Gulf RR 550.  It was sold as Western New York & Pennsylvania RR 428.

4260, C425, was built by Alco in May 1966, #3461-03, as SP&S 320. It became BN 4260, Class C-425, in 1970. It was retired and sold to Chrome in August 1980, and then to Kyle as 4260. It was later sold to A&M for parts.

4263, C425, was built by Alco in June 1966, #3461-06, as SP&S 323. It became BN 4263, Class A-425, in 1970 and was sold to Chrome Locomotive in August 1980. It was then sold to Kyle as 4263 and later to IHR where it was renumbered 327. It later was taken over by Wabash & Ohio.

4264, C425, was built by Alco in June 1966, #3461-07, as SP&S 324.  It became BN 4264, Class C-425, in 1970.  It was retired and sold to Chrome in August 1980, and then to Kyle as 4264.  It was later sold as A&M 4264 and sold as Massachusetts Central RR 4264.  It was sold as Pook Valley Leasing 4264 and sold as Morristown & Erie RR 4264.  It was sold as Western New York & Pennsylvania RR 4264.

5794, U30B, was built by General Electric in September 1974, #39904, as Saint Louis-San Francisco 857.  It became Burlington Northern 5794, Class U30B, in December 1980.  It was retired in February 1991 and sold to Pielet Brothers on May 17, 1991.  It was sold as Kyle 5794 on June 14, 1991, and sold to Vintage Locomotives Inc as VLIX 5794.  It was sold as Ferrocarril Chiapas Mayab 5794.

5795, U30B, was built by General Electric in March 1975, #40257, as SLSF 858.  It became Burlington Northern 5795, Class U30B, in January 1980, and sold to Pielet Brothers in May 1991.  It was then sold as Kyle 5795, in May 1991.

5808, U30C, was built by General Electric in July 1973, #39291, as BN 5808, Class U30C.  It was retired in October 1990 and sold to Pielet Brothers in October 1990.  It was sold as Kyle as 5808.

5911, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1955, #20519, as Denver & Rio Grande Western 5911, Class DE B-B 61.  It was retired on April 25, 1984, and sold to Mid America Car in June 1984.  It sold as Kyle 5911 in July 1984 and resold to Railtex in December 1986.  It became Austin & North Western 33 in March 1987 and later rebuilt by National Railway Equipment Co to Missouri & North Arkansas 4163, a slug.  It was sold to Bro-Tex International Metals in October 2011.

5944, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1956, #22075, as D&RGW 5944, Class DE B-B 61.  It was retired on June 20, 1984, and sold to Mid America Car in June 1984.  It was leased as Kyle 5944 in July 1984 and resold to Railtex in December 1986.  It became A&NW 44 in April 1987 and transferred to Central Oregon & Pacific in December 1995.  It was transferred as Willamette & Pacific 1802 in September 1998 and scrapped in January 2005.

5952, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1956, #22077, as D&RGW 5952, Class DE B-B 61.  It was retired on April 10, 1984, and sold to Mid America Car in June 1984.  It was was leased as Kyle 5952 in July 1984 and resold to Railtex in December 1986.  It became A&NW 11 in January 1987 and rebuilt by National Railway Equipment Co to M&NA 4164, a slug.  It was sold to Bro-Tex International Metals in October 2011.

9282, SD45T-2, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1973, #72625-22, FN 72625-22, as St Louis South-Western 9282, Class EF636C-8.  It became Southern Pacific 9282 and assigned as Union Pacific 4937, Class SD45T-2, but retired on July 20, 1999.  It was sold to CIT Financial Group as CEFX 9282 and sold as Kyle 9282 in 2008.


Natchez Trace Ry.

It was owned by Kyle RR in March 1, 1982, and sold to Pioneer Railcorp in March 1993 and renamed Mississippi Central RR.

1511, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1953, #17979, FN 5184-9, as Pittsburgh & Lake Erie 5733, Class DRS-4L.  It was reclassified Class ERS-15 in 1966 and renumbered 1504 in December 1971.  It was sold to Monongahela Ry as 1500 in December 1975.  It was then leased to North Texas Central as 1500 in July 1982.  It was later sold to Cimarron River Valley Ry as 1500 and then to Kyle RR as 1500.  It was then transferred to NTRy as 1511.

8281, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1952, #16509, as Southern Ry 2189.  It was renumbered 8281 in 1971 and sold as NTRy as 8281  It was sold as Pioneer Rail Equipment 8281 in 1999 and sold as Waldens Ridge RR 8281.  It was sold to Indiana Box Car Co 8281.

This was a former Southern Pacific subsidiary.


San Joaquin Valley RR

101, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1954, #19110, DN 5320-20, as Union Pacific 224.  It was retired in February 1979 and sold to Morrison Knudsen on October 1, 1979.  It was rebuilt on March 21, 1980, as San Diego & Arizona Eastern 101 and later transferred as Kyle RR 101.  It later was transferred as SJVRR 101 and sold to Western Rail Inc as 1761.  It later became Lake County RR 1761 in October 2005.

110, GP15-1, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1976, #757142-22, as Chicago & North Western 4421.  It was retired on January 10, 1992, and returned to GMAC in March 1992.  It was sold as California Northern RR 110 in October 1993 and transferred as SJVR 110 in 2003.

1751, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1955, #19968, #FN 5367-4, as Texas & New Orleans 420, Class DF-604.  It was renumbered Southern Pacific 3432, Class EF418-4, in 1966 and rebuilt as 3312, Class EF418E-1, in 1970.  It was sold as Arizona Eastern RR 1751 in 1988 and transferred as SJVR 1751.  It was sold as Great Smoky Mountain RR 1751.

1755, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1956, #21359, FN 5436-41, as SP 5666, Class DF-607.  It was renumbered 3499, Class EF418-6, in 1966 and rebuilt as 3397, Class EF418E-2, in 1974.   It was sold as AZER 1755 in 1988 and transferred as SJVR 1755.  It was sold as GSMR 1755.

2035, GP20, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1962, #27102, as SP 7215, Class DF-617.  It was renumbered 4065, Class EF420-1, in 1966 and rebuilt as 4100, Class EF420-2, in 1988.  It was sold as Kyle 2035 and later transferred as San Joaquin Valley 2035.

2502, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1965, #30219, FN 7790-3, as WP 3015, Class RS-65.  It became UP 794 on April 16, 1984, and was retired on January 1, 1993.  It was sold to Kyle in April 1993 as SJVR 2502.  It was transferred as AZER 2502 in 2001.


San Pedro & Southwestern RR

2038, GP20, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1962, #27106, as Southern Pacific 7219, Class DF-617.  t was renumbered 4069, Class EF420-1, in 1966 and rebuilt at Houston as 4116, Class EF420-R02, on May 27, 1977.  It was retired on December 17, 1986.  It was sold as Kyle RR 2038 and transferred as San Pedro & Southwestern 2038.  It was transferred as SJVR 2038 and sold to Bro-Tex International Metals in October 2011.

2426, GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1962, #27213, as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 1226, Class 1200.  It was renumbered 3226, Class 3200, in 1970 and rebuilt at Cleburne as 2726, Class 2700, in July 1983.  It became Burlington Northern Santa Fe 2426, Class GP30, in August 1999 and sold to Larry;s Truck Equipment in August 2011.  It was sold as San Pedro & Southwestern RR 2426 in May 2012.
