Route 22, CENTER STREET, began on June 26, 1909, from Lake Park on Folsom St (Locust St) to Humbolt to Center to Fond du Lac and 27^th. On August 1, 1923, it was one manned. On November 4, 1924, it was extended on Center to 51^st St, replacing a branch of Route 35 between 35^th and 51^st. On September 17, 1926, it was extended from 51^st to 61^st. On August 16, 1937, buses replaced the cars east of Oakland. On July 28, 1941, buses replaced cars west of 50^th. On August 11, 1941, buses took over between 35^th and 50^th. On August 25, 1941, buses took over between Oakland and Holton. On September 22, 1941, buses replaced cars on the entire route, and on November 23, 1941, the buses were replaced by trolley buses.
