Electro-Motive GP40 Diesels
3687. Class GP-40, was built November 1966, #32647. It was renumbered
from October 25, 1980, until November 18, 1980, as temporary 9683. It later was
renumber 6503 and then became CSX Transportation
6303, Class GP-40. It was retired on September 12, 1989, and rebuilt by
Morrison-Knudsen on December 14, 1990, as St Louis
South-Western as 7284. It became Union
Pacific 5419 and renumbered 1519.
3690, Class GP-40, was built in November 1966, #32650. It was renumbered
between 1979 and January 1980 as temporary 9690. It later was renumbered 6506
and them became CSX 6506, Class GP-40. It was sold to Locomotive Leasing
Partners on May 23, 2000.
3696, Class GP-40, was built in November 1966, #32656. It was renumbered
between October 23, 1980, and November 1980 temporary 9696, It later was
renumbered 6512 and then became CSX 6512, Class GP-40. It was retired on
May 25, 1993, and sold to Helm Atlantic on July 22,, 1993. It was then sold to
Morrison-Knudsen. It was then rebuilt by Boise Locomotive on March 20, 1998, as
Texas Mexican as 1174 amd later
returned as Helm Leasing.
3697, Class GP-40, was built in November 1966, #32657. It was renumbered
6513 and then became CSX 6513, Class GP-40. It was retired on September 30,
1992, and was sold to Steel Processing Corp on April 26, 1993. It was rebuilt
to GP40PH-2 by Atelier Montreal Facility as Virginia
Railway Express V22.
3714, Class GP-40, was built in February 1969, #34837. It was returned to
General American Transportation Co on
May 17, 1984, as GATX 3714, It was rebuilt by Livingston Rebuild Center as Burlington Northern 3078, Class GP-40G, on May
3, 1989. It was retired on February 28, 1992, on GATX. It was sent to Missouri & Northern Arkansas as 3078 in
December 1992 and then to New England Central
as 3078 in January 1995. It was renumbered 4047 in July 1999.
3726, , Class GP-40, was built in March 1969, #34849. It was renumbered
9726 in 1979 and returned as 3726 in April 1981 as 3726, It was later returned
to GATX as 3726 on May 17, 1984. It was rebuilt by Mid-America Car in January
1986 and leased to Point Comfort & Northern
as 3726.
3750, Class GP-40, was built in January 1971, #36731. It was renumbered
6526 and then became CSX 6526, Class GP-40. It was sold to Railtex as New England Central 6526 and later became Indiana & Ohio 4050.
3755, Class GP-40, was built in January 1971k #36736. It was renumbered
in 1979 and 1980 temporary 9755. It later was renumbered 6531 and then became
CSX 6531, Class GP-40. It was damaged and retired on January 13, 1993. It was
purchased by National Railway Equipment on May 3, 1993, and was rebuilt by VMV
as Kansas City Southern 4743 in March
1994.
3756, Class GP-40, was built in January 1971, #35737, and was later
renumbered 6532. It then became CSX 6532, Class GP-40. It was later sold to Helm Atlantic Leasing as 400.
3771, Class GP-40, was built in March 1971, #37196. It was renumbered
9771 in February 1981 and back as 3771 in April 30l 1981. It was renumbered
6547, Class GP-40, and later CSX 6547, Class GP-40. It was retired on
May 25, 1993, and sold as Helm Atlantic Corp in May 12, 1994. It was rebuilt in
VMV in September 1, 1994, as Florida East Coast
444.
4006, Class GP-40, was built in August 1971, #38486. It was renumbered
6581 and then became CSX 6581, Class GP-40. It was retired on January 13, 1993,
and sold to National Railway Equipment on March 10, 1993, It was rebuilt by VMV
as KCS 4746 in June 1994.
4023, Class GP-40, was built in September 1971, #38503, and was
renumbered 6598 and becane CSX 6598, Class GP-40. It was retired on December
18, 1996, and sold to Locomotive Leasing Partner
as 6598 on February 21, 1997. It was rebuilt byVMV on November 1997 as GP38-3
on Cape Briton and Central Nova Scotia
as 3806. It was changed to Indiana & Ohio as 3806 on to Central Oregon & Pacific 3806 on 1999. It
was then changed as Dallas Garland &
NorthEastern as 3806.
4037, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38157. It was renumbered
9037 between 1979 and 1980 and later became CSX 6612, Class GP-40. It
was retired on August 6, 1991, and sold on Wisconsin
Central Ltd as 3001 on May 31, 1994. It was immediated renumbered
3021.
4039, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38519. It was renumbered 9039 in September 1979 and
returned to 4039 in January 1980. It
became CSX 6614, Class GP-40, and retired November 30, 1995. It was rebuilt as a GP38-3 by Boise on June
18, 1997, as Union Pacific 2516 and assigned as 1016
in 1999.
