Electro-Motive GP38-2 Diesels

2500 was built in March 1973, #72785-1, FN 72785-1, as Seaboard Coast Line 500. It became SBD 500 in January 1983 and renumbered 2500 in 1984. It later became CSX Transportation 2500, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.

2501 was built in March 1973, #72785-2, FN 72785-2, as SCL 501. It became SBD 501 in January 1983 and renumbered 2501 in 1984. It later became CSX 2501, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.

2505 was built in March 1973, #72785-6, FN 72785-6, as SCL 505.  It became SBD 505 in January 1983 and renumbered 2505 in 1984.  It later became CSX 2505, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.

2506 was built in March 1973, #72785-7, FN 72785-7, as SCL 506. It became SBD 506 in January 1983 and renumbered 2506 in 1984. It later became CSX 2506, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.

2530 was built in October 1973, #73607-6, FN 73607-6, as SCL 530. It became SBD 530 in January 1983 and was renumbered 2530 in 1984. It later became CSX 2530, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.

2533 was built in October 1973, #73607-9, FN 73607-9, as SCL 533.  It became SBD 533 in January 1983 and renumbered 2533 in 1984.  It became CSX 2533, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.  It is apparent that the renumbering and lettering was not done on time.

2539 was built in October 1973, #73607-15, FN 73607-15, as SCL 539. It became SBD 539 in January 1983 and was renumbered 2539 in 1984. It later became CSX 2539, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.

2543 was built in October 1973, #73607-19, FN 73607-19, as SCL 543.  It became SBD 543 in January 1983 and was renumbered 2543 in 1984.  It later became CSX 2543, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.

2552 was built in November 1973, #73607-28, FN 73607-28, as SCL 552. It became SBD 552 in January 1983 and was renumbered 2552 in 1984. It later became CSX 2552, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.

2561 was built in January 1972, #5806-2, FN 5806-2, as Louisville & Nashville 4051, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4051 in January 1983 and renumbered 2561 in 1984. It became CSX 2561, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.

2562 was built in January 1972, #5806-3, FN 5806-3, as L&N 4052, Class GP38-2.  It became SBD 4052 in January 1983 and renumbered 2562 in 1984.  It became CSX 2562, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.

2567 was built in January 1972, #5806-8, FN 5806-8, as L&N 4057, Class GP38-2.  It became SBD 4057 in January 1983 and renumbered 2567 in 1984.  It became CSX 2567, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.

2575 was built in April 1972, #7339-6, FN 7339-6, as L&N 4065, Class GP40-2.  It became SBD 4065 in January 1983 and renumbered 2575 in 1984.  It became CSX 2575, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.

2579 was built in April 1972, #7339-10, FN 7339-10, as L&N 4069, Class GP38-2.  It became SBD 4069 in January 1983 and renumbered 2579 in 1984.  It became CSX 2579, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.  It was sold to General American Transportation Co as GMTX 2198.

2582 was built in September 1972, #72704-3, FN 72703-3, as L&N 4072, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4072 in January 1983 and renumbered 2582 in 1984. It later became CSX 2582, Class GP38-2, in April 1986. It was sold to Helm Leasing as 2582 and rebuilt by Metro East in February 1998 assigned Southern Pacific 4847, but completed February 19, 1998, as Union Pacific 1973, Class GP38-2. It was renumbered 473 on June 27, 2001.

2583 was built in September 1972, #72704-4, as L&N 4073, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4073 in January 1983 and renumbered 2583 in 1984. It then became CSX 2583, Class GP38-2, in April 1986. It was sold to Helm as 2583 and rebuilt AMF on April 4, 1994, as SP 153. It was renumbered 4848 on March 30, 1995, and became UP 472, Class GP38-2, on September 30, 2003.  It was retired on October 13, 2003, and returned as HLCX 3848.

2585 was built in September 1972, #72704-6, as L&N 4075, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4075 in January 1983 and renumbered 2585 in1984. It later became CSX 2585, Class GP38-2, in April 1986. It was sold to Helm as 2585.

2588 was built in September 1972, #72704-9, as L&N 4078, Class GP38-2.  It became SBD 4078 in January 1983 and renumbered 2588 in 1984.  It later became CSX 2588, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.  It was sold to Helm as 2588 on April 1, 1993, and rebuilt by AMF in July 1994 as SP 158.  It was renumbered 4853 on March 30, 1995, and assigned  1979  in September 1997.  It became UP 479 on December 1, 2003, and retired on October 13, 2003.  It became HLCX 3843 on February 8, 2005.

2589 was built in September 1972, #72704-10, as L&N 4079, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4079 in January 1983 and renumbered 2589 in 1984. It later became CSX 2589, Class GP38-2, in April 1986. It was sold to Helm as 2589 in April 1, 1993, and rebuilt by AMF on July 5, 1994, as SP 159. It was renumbered 4854 on February 11, 1995, and was assigned UP 1980 in September 1980. It was reassigned 480 in December 1999.

2590 was built in September 1972, #72704-11, as L&N 4080, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4080 in January 1983 and renumbered 2590 in 1984. It later became CSX 2590, Class GP-38-2, in April 1986. It was sold to Helm Leasing as 2590 and rebuilt by AMF Transport on June 29, 1995, as Southern Pacific 4855. It was assigned Union Pacific 1981 in September 1997 and became UP 481 on October 31, 2000.

2591 was built in September 1972, #72704-12, as L&N 4081, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4081 in January 1983 and renumbered 2591 in 1984. It later became CSX 2591, Class GP38-2, in April 1986. It was sold to Helm as 2591 and rebuilt by AMF on June 1, 1995, as SP 4850. It was assigned UP 1976 in September 1997 and assigned UP 476 in December 1999.

2593 was built in September 1972, #72704-14, as L&N 4083, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4083 and was later renumbered 2593. It then became CSX 2593, Class GP38-2. It was sold to Helm as 2593 and rebuilt at Metro-East in May 1998. It was assigned SP 4858 but was delivered as UP 1984. It was assigned UP 484 in December 1999.

2595 was built in September 1972, #72704-16, as L&N 4085, Class GP38-2.  It became SBD 4085 and was later renumbered 2595.  It then became CSX 2595, Class GP38-2.  It was sold to Helm as 2595 and rebuilt by AMF on July 19, 1994, as SP 165.  It was renumbered 4860 on February 17, 1995, and assigned UP 1986 in September 1997 and 486 in December 1999.  It was retired on October 13, 2003, and became HLCX 3852 on November 4, 2005.

2598 was built in September 1972, #72704-19, as L&N 4088, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4088 and was later renumbered 2598. It then became CSX 2598, Class GP38-2, in 1987. It was sold to Helm as 2598 and rebuilt by AMF on December 15, 1994, as SP 167. It was renumbered 4862 in 1995 and was assigned UP 1988 in September 1997 and 488 in December 1999.

2599 was built in September 1972, #72704-29, FN 72704-29 as L&N 4089, Class GP38-2.  It became SBD 4089 in January 1983 and renumbered 2599 in 1984.  It became CSX 2599, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.  It was sold to Helm as HLLX 2599 and rebuilt as SP 4863 and became UP 489, Class GP38-2, on January 17, 1995.  It was retired and became HLCX 3854 on January 25, 2006.

2600 was built in October 1972, #72604-1, as L&N 4090, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4090 and was later renumbered 2600. It later became CSX 2600, Class GP38-2. It was sold to Helm as 2600 and rebuilt by Metro-East on June 20, 1996, as SP 4864. It was assigned UP 490 in December 1999.

2601 was built in October 1972, #72604-2, FN 72604-2, as L&N 4091, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4091 in January 1983 and was renumbered 2601 in 1984. It later became CSX 2601, Class GP38-2, in April 1986. It was sold to Helm as 2601 in 1993 and rebuilt by AMF on June 30, 1994, as SP 170. It became UP 1990, Class GP38-2, on July 16, 2001, and was renumbered 493 on July 17, 2001.

2602 was built in October 1972, #72604-3, FN 72604-3, as L&N 4092, Class GP38-2.  It became SBD 4092 in January 1983 and renumbered 2602 in 1984.  It became CSX 2602, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.  It was sold as HLLX 2602 and assigned as SP 4866  It and rebuilt as UP 1992, Class GP38-2, on August 5, 1992.  It was renumbered 492 on January 25, 2005.

2604 was built in October 1972, #72604-5, FN 72604-5, as L&N 4094, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4094 and was later renumbered 2604. It then became CSX 2604, Class GP38-2. It was sold to Helm as 2604 and rebuilt in January 1996 as SP 4868. It became UP 1994 on September 12, 1997, and  494 on October 18, 2005.  It became HLCX 3858 on May 9, 2006.

2606 was built in October 1972, #72604-8, FN 72604-8, as L&N 4097, Class GP38-2.  It became SBD 4097 and was later renumbered 2606.  It then became CSX 2606, Class GP38-2.  It was sold as Helm 2606 on April 1, 1993, and rebuilt as SP 4870.  It became UP 1996 on February 6, 1997, and retired on October 13, 2003.  It became HLCX 3867 in 2003.

2607 was built in October 1972, #72604-9, FN 72604-9, as L&N 4098, Class GP38-2.  It became SBD 4098 and was later renumbered 2607.  It then became CSX 2607, Class GP38-2.  It was sold to Helm as 2607 and rebuilt on February 24, 1995, as SP 4871.  It became UP 497 on December 17, 2001, and retired on December 27, 2001.  It became HLCX 3876 on January 2, 2002.

2608 was built in October 1972, #72604-10, FN 72604-10, as L&N 4099, Class GP38-2. It later became SBD 4099 and later was renumbered 2609. It then became CSX 2608, Class GP38-2. In 1993 it was sold to Helm Leasing as 2608, in April 1, 1993. It was rebuilt at Metro Equipment in 1996 as SP 4872, but it was sold as Mexicana de Cobre F11-14 in October 1996.

2609 was built in February 1973, #72735-1, FN 72735-1, as L&N 4100, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4100 and was renumbered 2609. It later became CSX 2609, Class GP38-2.

2619 was built in March 1973, #72735-13, FN 72735-13, as L&N 4112, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4112 and was renumbered 2619. It later became CSX 2619, Class GP38-2.

2627 was built in March 1973, #72635-6, FN 727635-6, as L&N 4120, Class GP38-2.  It became SBD 4120 and was renumbered 2627.  It later became CSX 2627, Class GP38-2.

2628 was built in March 1973, #72635-7, FN 72635-7, as L&N 4121, Class GP38-2. It became SBD 4121 in January 1983 and was renumbered 2628 in 1984. It later became CSX 2628, Class GP38-2, in April 1986.
