991 was built in July 1964, #28688. It became Burlington Northern 2537, Class GP-35, in 1970 and was rebuilt by Electro-Motive in July 1990. It became BN 2901, Class GP-39E, on July 12, 1990, and later became Burlington Northern Santa Fe 2901, Class GP-39E, on July 2001.
