Electro-Motive GP7 Diesels
896 was built by Electro-Motive in May 1950, #11592, as Seaboard Air Line 1716. It became SCL 896 in July 1967. It became Aberdeen and Briar Patch 896. In 1993 it became Aberdeen Carolina & Western 896 when the A&BP was taken over. It was later renumbered 701.
