Electro-Motive GP9 Diesels
3816, Class GP-9, was built in November 1957, #24268, as Pennsylvania RR 7191-B, Class EF-17b. It was renumbered 3816 in 1966 and became Penn Central 3817, Class ERS-17b. It later became Conrail 3816, Class GP-9, in April 1976 and was later scrapped.
7002, Class GP-9, was built in October 1955, #20708, as PRR 7002, Class ERS-17. It was later PC 7002, Class ERS-17, in 1968 and Conrail 7002, Class GP-7, in April 1976. It was rebuilt at Paducah in 1978 as Conrail 7568, Class GP-10. It was later sold to Larry's Truck Equipment Co as 7568.
7066, Class GP-9, was built in October 1956, #21871, as PRR 7066, Class ES-17A. It became PC 7066, Class ERS-17A, in 1968 and later became Conrail 7066, Class GP-9. It was rebuilt at Paducah in 1978 as 7577, Class GP-10. It later became Archer-Daniels-Midland as 7577.
7073, Class GP-9, was built in October 1956, #21878, as PRR 7073, Class ERS-17A. It became PC 7073, Class ERS-17A, in 1968 and Conrail 7073, Class GP-9, in April 1976. It was retired in May 3, 1988, and traded in to General Electric in 1968. It later was sold as Soo Line RR for parts in 1989.
7116, Class GP-9, was built in June 1957, #23116, as PRR 7116, Class ES-17A. It became PC 7116, Class ERS-17, in 1968 and later became Conrail 7116, Class GP-9. It was retired on May 3, 1988, and sold to General Electric.
7130, Class GP-9, was built in June 1957, #23330, as PRR 7130, Class ES-17A. It became PC 7130, Class ERS-17, in 1968 and later became Conrail 7130, Class GP-9. It was rebuilt at Paducah in 1978 as 7567, Class GP-10. It later became ADM 7567.
7189, Class GP-9, was built in November 1957, #24221, as PRR 7189, Class ES-17A. It became PC 7189, Class ERS-17, in 1968 and became Conrail 7189, Class GP-9, in April 1976. It was traded in Electro-Motive. It was sold as Providence & Worcester 1701 in 1982 and sold as Quaboag Transfer Inc 1701 in 1984.
7196, Class GP-9, was built in November 1957, #24228, as PRR 7196, Class EFS-17m. It was Class ERS-17 in 1966 and then PC 7196, Class ERS-17, in 1968. It then was Conrail 7196, Class GP-9, in April 1976. It was scrapped.
7210, Class GP-9, was built in November 1957, #24242, as PRR 7210, Class EFS-17m. It was reclassified as Class ERS-17 in 1966 and became PC 7210, Class ERS-17, in 1968. It became Conrail 7210, Class GP-9, in April 1976 and was rebuilt at Paducah as 7515, Class GP-10, in 1978. It was sold as Maywood Co-op Association 7515.
7217, Class GP-9, was built in December 1957, #24249, as PRR 7217, Class EFS-17m. It was Class ERS-17 in 1966 and then PC 7217, Class ERS-17, in 1968. It then was Conrail 7217, Class GP-9, in April 1976. It was scrapped.
7262, Class GP-9, was built in November 1959, #24314, as PRR 7262, Class EFS-17m. It was Class ERS-17 in 1966 and then PC 7262, Class ERS-17, in 1968. It then was Conrail 7262, Class GP-9, in April 1976 and rebuilt at Precision National in 1977 as 7572, Class GP-10. It was later sold as Winchester & Western 572.
7303, Class GP-9, was built in April 1954, #19524, as Cleveland Union Terminal 5903, Class DRSP-9a. It was renumbered 7303, Class ERS-17, in 1966 and became Conrail 7303, Class GP-9, in April 1976. It was sold as Hillsdale County RR 1603 and became Indiana & Northeastern RR 1603. It is out of service.
7304, Class GP-9, was built in October 1955, #20893, as New York Central 5904, Class DRS-9b. It was renumbered 7304, Class ERS-17, in 1966 and became PC 7304, Class ERS-17, in 1968. It was later Conrail 7304, Class GP-9, in April 1976 and later retired.
7322, Class GP-9, was built in November 1955, #20911, as NYC 5922, Class DRS-9b. It was renumbered 7322, Class ERS-17, in 1966 and became PC 7322, Class ERS-17, in 1966. It was later Conrail 7322, Class GP-9, in April 1976, and rebuilt by Precision National as 7547, Class GP-10,, in 1978. It was sold as Ohio Central RR 7547.
7343, Class GP-9, was built in December 1955, #20932, as NYC 5943, Class DRSP-9c. It was renumbered 7515, Class ERS-17s, in 1966 and became PC 7515, Class ERS-17s. It was rebuilt as 7343, Class ERS-17, in 1970 and became Conrail 7343. Class GP-9, in April 1976. It was rebuilt at Paducah as 7549, Class GP-10, in 1978 and sold as Bloomer Line Connecting RR 7549.
7368, Class GP-9, was built in February 1956, #20981, as NYC 5964, Class DRS-9d. It was renumbered 7368, Class ERS-17, in 1966 and became PC 7368, Class ERS-17, in 1968. It became Conrail 7368, Class GP-9, in April 1976, and retired on May 3, 1988. It was sold to General Electric and sold as BLOR 92 in 1991.
7376, Class GP-9, was built in March 1956, #20989, as NYC 5976, Class DRS-9d. It was renumbered 7376, Class ERS-17, in 1966 and became PC 7376, Class ERS-17, in 1968. It was later Conrail 7376, Class GP-9, in April 1976.

7381, Class GP-9, was built in March 1956, #20994, as NYC 5981, Class DRS-9d. It was renumbered 7381, Class ERS-17, in 1966 and became PC 7381, Class ERS-17, in 1968. It was later Conrail 7381, Class GP-9, and was sold for scrap through General Electric in 1983.
7430, Class GP-9, was built by General Motors in April 1957, #A1075, as NYC 6030, Class DRS-9f. It was renumbered 7430, Class ERS-17, in 1966 and became PC 7430, Class ERS-17, in 1968. It was later Conrail 7430, Class GP-9, and retired.
7432, Class GP-9, was built by General Motors in April 1957, #A1077, as NYC 6032, Class DRS-9f. It was renumbered 7432, Class ERS-17, in 1968, and became PC 7432, Class ERS-17, in 1968. It became Conrail 7432, Class GP-9, in April 1976 and retired in 1985. It was sold as Ashland Ry 32.
7443, Class GP-9, was built in April 1957, #23646, as NYC 6043, Class DRS-9h. It was renumbered 7443, Class ERS-17, in 1966 and became PC 7443, Class ERS-17, in 1968. It became Conrail 7443, Class GP-9, in April 1976 and rebuilt at Paducah in 1978 as 7550, Class GP-10. It was sold as Southern RR of New Jersey 102.
7459, Class GP-9, was built in August 1957, #23542, as NYC 6049, Class DRS-9h. It was renumbered 7459, Class ERS-17, in 1966 and became PC 7459, Class ERS-17, in 1968. It was later Conrail 7459, Class GP-9, in April 1976 and later retired.
7480, Class GP-9, was built in June 1956, #21823, as Erie RR 1262, Class MFSE-17A. It became Erie Lackawanna 1262, Class MFSE-17D, in 1960 and then to Conrail as 7480, Class GP-9, in April 1976. It was retired on April 6, 1990.
7531, Class GP-9, was built in July 1956, #22111, as New
York New Haven & Hartford as 1201, Class DERS-4. It became PC 7531, Class ERS-17s, in 1969, and
then Conrail 7531, Class GP-9. It was renumbered 7271 and later sold to Cape Cod &
Hyannis as 21. It was then sold to South
Carolina Central as 21 in April 1989 and later to Georgia
Southwestern as 21. Then it became Carolina
Piedmont RR as 21 in November 1990
and then Georgia & Alabama as 21.
7539, Class GP-9, was built in August 1955, #22119, as NYNH&H 1209, Class DERS-4. It became
PC 7539, Class ERS-17s, in 1969, and then Conrail 7539, Class GP-9. It was transferred to Massachusetts
Bay Transit Authority as 7539. It was later sold and rebuilt at
Paducah in March 1980 and rebuilt as Illinois
Central Gulf 8730. It later became Brnndywine Valley Ry as 8730.
7540, Class GP-9, was built in
August 1956, #22120, as NYNH&H 1210, Class DERS-4. It became PC 7540, Class ERS-17s, 1969, and then
Conrail 7540, Class GP-9. It was renumbered 7280 and later sold
to CC&H as 1210. It was renumbered 20 and later sold to GAAB "The Pride of
Mauldin" as 20.
It later was transferred to CPRR as 20.
7559, Class GP-9, was built in August 1956, #22139, as NYNH&H 1229, Class DERS-4. In 1969 it became PC 7559, Class ERS-17s, and in April 1976 it became Conrail 7559, Class GP-9. It was transferred to MBTA as 7559 and then leased to Southeastern Michigan Transit Authority as 905 on October 6, 1978. On February 10, 1987, it was returned to MBTA as 905.
