Rebuilt Electro-Motive SD40-3 Diesels
601 was built in January 1966, #31272, as Chicago & North Western 876, SD40. It was retired November 19, 1987, and sold by Livingston Rebuild Center in December 1989. It was rebuilt in July 1995 as KCS 601.
602 was built in February 1966, #31276, as C&NW 880, SD40. It was retired on October 27, 1989, and sold to Livingston Rebuild Center in December 1989. It was rebuilt in March 1995 as KCS 602.
602 was built in February 1966, #31277, as C&NW 881. It was retired on October 27, 1989, and sold to Livingston Rebuild in December 1989 and rebuilt as KCS 603 in 1995.
605 was built in November 1966, #32106, as C&NW 890. SD40. It was retired on Novemer 19, 1987, and sold to Livingston Rebuild Center in December 1989. It was rebuilt August 1995 as KCS 605.
611 was built in January 1969, #34570, as C&NW 937, SD45. It was retired on November 19, 1987, and in October 1989 it was sold to VMV Enterprises as 937. It was later rebuilt as KCS 611 to SD40-2 standards.
613 was built in January 1969, #34578, as C&NW 943, SD45. It was retired on September 25, 1987, and in October 1989 it was sold to VMV as 943. It was later rebuilt as KCS 613.
618 was built in December 1967, #33815, as Pennsylvania RR 6181, Class EF-36, SD45. It became Penn Central 6181, Class EF-36, in 1988 and Consolidated Railroad Corp 6181, Class SD-45, and was sold to C&NW as 6181 in February 1983. It was assigned 6509, but was retired on October 10, 1989, before renumbering. It was sold to VMV in October 1989 and rebuilt later as KCS 618.
619 was built in September 1969, #35483, as St Louis-San Francisco 935, SD45. It became Burlington Northern 6683, Class SD-45, in December 1980 and was retired on December 9, 1986. It was sold to VMV Enterprises in February 1987 and became Paducah & Louisville 6683 in March 1987. It was rebuilt at Paducah in 1995 as KCS as 619.
623 was built in October 1968, #34172, as Seaboard Coast Line 2019, SD45. It later became Seaboard System RR 8919 and then CSX Transportation 8919, Class SD-45. It was sold to VMV as 8919 and then rebuilt as KCS 623.
624 was built in October 1968, #34175, as SCL 2022, SD45. It later became SBD 8922 and then CSX 8922, Class SD-45. It was sold to VMV and rebuilt as KCS 624.
627 was built in September 1971, #37721, as SCL 2030, SD45. It later became SBD 8930 and then CSX 8930, Class SD-45. It was sold to VMV and rebuilt as KCS 627 in August 1995.
629 was built in September 1971, #37724, as SCL 2033, SD45. It later became SBD 8933 and then CSX 8933, Class SD-45. It was sold to VMV as 8933 and then rebuilt to SD40-2 standards as KCS 629.
630 was built in February 1969, #34605, as C&NW 972, SD45. It was retired on April 5, 1989, and sold to VMV in October 1989. It was rebuilt as KCS 630.
632 was build in January 1969, #34572, as C&NW 939, SD45, It was retired on November 19, 1987, and sold to VMV in October 1989. It was rebuilt as KCS 632.
670 was built in August 1968, #33962, as KCS 618, SD40. It was renumbered 4618 in 1994 and then rebuilt by VMV as 670.
674 was built in August 1968, #33965, as KCS 621, SD40. It was renumbered 4621 in 1994 and then rebuilt by VMV as 674 in 1997..
696 was built by General Motors in March 1969, #A2328, as Quebec North Shore & Labrador 200, Class DRS30, SD40. It was rebuilt by AMF in January 1996, as KCS 696.
698 was built by General Motors in February 1969, #A2330, as QNS&L 202, Class DRS30, SD40. It was rebuilt by AMF in January 1996 as KCS 698.
6619 was built by General Motors in 1971, #A2505, as Canadian National 5188, Class GF30-K, SD40. It was rebuilt by AMF in January 1999 as KCS 6619. It was later returned to CN.
6630 was built by General Motors in 1970, #A2387, as CNR 5131, Class GF30-H. SD40. It was rebuilt by AMF in 1999 as KCS 6630. It was returned to CN as Grand Trunk Western 5947 in 2002.
6633 was built by General Motors in 1970, #2398, as CNR 5142, Class GF30-H, SD40. It was rebuilt by AMF in 1999 as KCS 6633. It was returned to CN as GTW 5950 in 2002..
6639 was built by General Motors in 1971, #A2522, as CNR 5205, Class GF30-K, SD40. It was rebuilt by AMF in 1999 as KCS 6639. It was returned to CN as GTW 5956 in 2002.
