565 was built by Alco-Schenectady in 1908, #45528, as Delaware Lackawanna & Western 565. It was sold in 1936 as Dansville & Mount Morris 565. It was retired in 1961 and sold as BR&W 565. It was then sold through several individuals from 1968 through 1985 and ended at the Steamtown Foundation.
