Small St. Louis Cars 1101-1425
These cars were built by St. Louis Car in 1903 and 1906 for Chicago Union Traction Co. They are similar to the Robertson design without the small windows. Cars of this series were converted to one man operation in later years and have a wide horizontal stripe on the front to denote this. A number of these cars were converted to sand and salt service and as flangers. 1374 was thus preserved and has been restored at the Illinois Railway Museum.
1101 thru 1305 were built in 1903 as CUT 4630 thru 4834. 1218 was burned in June 1947. 1290 was scrapped in May 1946.
1306 thru 1423 were built in 1906 as CUT 4835 thru 4952. 1331 was scrapped in April 1947.
