7817 was built in March 1978, #41875, as Southern Pacific 7817, Class GF430-2.  It became UP 7817 on March 22, 2001, and retired on August 2, 2007.  It was rebuilt by Super Steel for Railpower as a RP20GE and became UPY2681 in August 2007.

7818 was built in April 1978, #41876, as SP 7818, Class GF430-2.  It became UP 7818 on October 22, 2001, and retired on February 28, 2005.  It was rebuilt by Motive Power Industries for Railpower as a GG20GE and became UPY2319 on September 28, 2006.
