Northwestern Cars

1001 thru 1037 were built by Pullman in 1899 as Northwestern Elevated Ry 1 thru 37. They were renumbered 1001 thru 1037 in 1913 and became CRT 1001 thru 1037 in 1923. 1012 was rebuilt in 1924 tot S106 for work service. 1024 was purchased by the Illinois Railway Museum.

1038 thru 1052 were built by American Car & Foundry in 1900 as NWERy 38 thru 52. They were renumbered 1038 thru 1052 in 1913 and became CRT 1038 thru 1052 in 1923.

1053 thru 1059 were built by St. Louis Car in 1901 as NWERy 53 thru 59. They were renumbered 1053 thru 1059 in 1913 and became CRT 1053 thru 1059 in 1923.

1100 thru 1209 were built as trailers by Pullman in 1899 as NWERy 100 thru 209. They were renumbered 1100 thru 1209 in 1913 and became CRT 1100 thru 1209 in 1923. 1159 and 1164 were retired in 1936.

1210 thru 1234 were built as trailers by American Car & Foundry in 1900 as NWERy 210 thru 234. They were renumbered 1210 thru 1234 in 1913 and became CRT 1210 thru 1234 in 1923.

1235 thru 1259 were trailers built by St. Louis Car in 1901 as NWERy 235 thru 259. They were renumbered 1235 thru 1259 in 1913 and became CRT 1235 thru 1239 in 1923.

1260 thru 1279 were trailers built by American Car & Foundry in 1907 as NWERy 260 thru 279. They were renumbered 1260 thru 1279 in 1913 and became CRT 1260 thru 1279 in 1923. 1278 was rebuilt in 1927. A number of the cars came into CTA including 1268 which was given a rebuilt end. It was acquired by the Illinois Ry Museum in 1956.

1700 thru 1734 were built by St. Louis Car in 1903 as NWERy 700 thru 734. They were renumbered 1700 thru 1734 in 1913 and became CRT 1700 thru 1734 in 1923.

1735 thru 1768 were built by Jewett Car in 1903 as NWERy 735 thru 768. They were renumbered 1735 thru 1768 in 1913 and became CRT 1735 thru 1768 in 1923. 1754 is now at the IRM.

1769 thru 1788 were built by Pullman in 1908 as NWERy 769 thru 788. They were renumbered 1769 thru 1788 in 1913 and became CRT 1769 thru 1788 in 1923.

1789 thru 1808 were built by American Car & Foundry in 1907 as NWERy 280 thru 299 as trailers. They were renumbered 1280 thru 1299. They were rebuilt as motors and renumbered 1789 thru 1808. They became CRT 1789 thru 1808 in 1923. 1796 was sold to Gaylord Container in Louisiana, where it was scrapped in 1966. 1797 and 1808 were purchased by Frank Sherwin, who owned Chicago Hardware Foundry, and are now at the IRM.
