Electro-Motive SD40-2 Diesels

4090-4199

4090, Class SD40-2, was built in August 1973, #73713-1, FN 73713-1, as Missouri Pacific 790.  It was renumbered 3090 in March 1974 and became UP 4090, Class SD40-2, on June 23, 1989.  It was retired on April 18, 1994, and sold to Helm Leasing.  It became Canadian National 6090 immediately and was rebuilt by AMF on October 13, 1994, as 5387, Class GF-30w.

4096, Class SD40-2, was built in August 1973, #73613-2, FN 73613-2, as MP 796.  It was renumbered 3060 in March 1974 and became UP 4096, Class SD40-2, on December 15, 1989.  It was retired on April 18, 1994, and sold to Helm Leasing.  It became CN 6096 immediately and was rebuilt by AMF on December 19, 1995, as 5375, Class GF-30w.

4101, Class SD40-2, was built in August 1973, #73713-7, FN 73713-7, as MP 801.  It was renumbered 3101 in March 1974 and become UP 4101, Class SD40-2, on August 5, 1987.  It was retired on April 18, 1994, and sold to Helm Leasing.  It became CN 6101 immediately and rebuilt by AMF as 5374, Class GF-30w, on August 25, 1995.

4107, Class SD40-2, was built in September 1973, #73613-18, FN 73613-18, as MP 807. It was renumbered 3107 in March 1974 and became UP 4107, Class SD40-2, on January 23, 1989. It was retired on April 18, 1994, and sold to Helm Leasing. It became CN 6107 immediately and was rebuilt by AMF as 5366, Class GF-30w, on September 31, 1994.

4111, Class SD40-2, was built in September 1973, #73613-22, FN 73613-22, as MP 811.  It was renumbered 3111 in March 1974 and became UP 4111, Class SD40-2, on December 18, 1990.  It was retired on April 18, 1994, and sold to Helm Leasing.  It became CN 6111 immediately and was rebuilt by AMF as 5385, Class GF-30w, on July 6, 1995.

4116, Class SD40-2, was built in December 1973, #73648-2, FN 73643-2, as Texas & Pacific 817.  It was renumbered 3116 in March 1974 and become MP 3116 in 1976.  It became UP 4116, Class SD40-2, on December 14, 1988, and renumbered B4116 on June 29, 1992.  It was assigned as 8927 but rebuilt as SD38-2, UPY 856, Class SD38-2, on June 7, 2000.

4117, Class SD40-2, was built in December 1973, #73648-3, FN 73648-3, as T&P 818.  It was renumbered 3117 in March 1974 and became MP 3117 in 1976.  It became UP 4117 on October 31, 1989, and renumbered B4117 on July 20, 1992.  It was renumbered 8928 on November 5, 2000, and retired on December 26, 2001.  It was later leased as AATRR as 3004.

4122, Class SD40-2, was built in January 1974, #73648-8, FN 73648-8, as T&P 823.  It was renumbered 3122 in March 1974 and became MP 3122 in 1976.  It became UP 4122, Class SD40-2, on October 17, 1991, and renumbered B4122 on July 15, 1992.  It was assigned as 8931 but retired on June 28, 2000.

4131, Class SD40-2, was built in January 1974, #73648-17, FN 73648-17, as T&P 832.  It was renumbered 3131 in March 1974 and became MP 3131 in 1976.  It became UP 4131, Class SD40-2, on June 9, 1987, and renumbered 9888 on February 29, 2000.  It was retired on February 17, 2009.

4132, Class SD40-2, was built in January 1974, #73648-18, FN 73648-18, as T&P 833.  It was renumbered 3132 in March 1974 and became MP 3132 in 1976.  It became UP 4132 on August 24, 1993, and rebuilt on September 4, 1997 as 2820, Class SD38-2.  It was renumbered UPY820, Class SD38-2, on January 2, 2002.

4133, Class SD40-2, was built in January 1974, #73648-19, FN 73648-19, as T&P 834.  It was renumbered 3133 in March 1974 and became MP 3133 in 1976.  It became UP 4133, Class SD40-2, on June 21, 1989.  It was rebuilt as B4133 on July 3, 1992, and renumbered 8936 on August 26, 2000.  It was retired on February 27, 2001, and sold as Brownsville & Rio Grande International RR 3986.

4137, Class SD40-2, was built in January 1974, #73648-23, FN 73748-23, as T&P 838.  It was renumbered 3137 in March 1974 and became MP 3137 in 1976.  It became UP 4137, Class SD40-2, on February 14, 1989, and renumbered 9890 on September 18, 2000. 

4139, Class SD40-2, was built in February 1974, #73748-1, FN 73748-1, as MP 3139,  It became UP 4139, Class SD40-2, on November 23, 1988, and renumbered 9892 on June 14, 2000.  It was retired on July 31, 2001.

4140, Class SD40-2, was built in February 1974, #73748-2, FN 73748-2, as MP 3140.  It became UP 4140, Class SD40-2, on September 9, 1991, and renumbered 9893 on July 27, 2000.  It was retired on April 27, 2001.

4141, Class SD40-2, was built in February 1974, #73748-3, FN 73748-3, as MP 3141.  It became UP 4141, Class SD40-2, on September 30, 1991, and rebuilt as 2825, Class SD38-2, on March 16, 1998.  It was renumbered Y825 on December 12, 2001.    `

4142, Class SD40-2, was built in February 1974, #73748-8, FN 73748-8, as MP 3142.  It became UP 4142, Class SD40-2, on August 11, 1989, and was renumbered B4142 on June 5, 1992.  It was rebuilt as UPY864, Class SD38-2, on November 18, 2004.

4151, Class SD40-2, was built in March 1974, #73748-13, FN 73748-13, as Chicago & Eastern Illinois 3151. It became MP 3151 in 1976 and UP 4154, Class SD40-2, on July 27, 1988. It was renumbered 9900 on July 9, 2000, and retired on July 12, 2001.  It was rebuilt as Belt Railway of Chicago 566, slug, and renumbered 565B.

4153, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1974, #73748-15, FN 73748-15, as C&EI 3153. It became MP 3153 in 1976 and UP 4153, Class SD40-2, on October 25, 1989. It was renumbered 9902 on August 20, 2000.  It was retired on July 31, 2001.  It was sold as Wisconsin & Southern RR 4054 and became WATCo as WAMX 4188.

4154, Class SD40-2, was built in March 1974, #73748-16, FN 73748-16, as C&EI 3154. It became MP 3154 in 1976 and UP 4154, Class SD40-2, on November 5, 1987. It was renumbered 9903 on October 6, 2000, and retired on January 29, 2001.

4157, Class SD40-2, was built in March 1974, #73748-19, FN 73748-19, as CE&I 3157.  It became MP 3157 in 1976 and UP 4158, Class SD40-2, on August 1, 1986. It was renumbered 9906 on October 25, 2000, and retired on July 31, 2001.  It was rebuilt as BRC 562B, slug.

4159, Class SD40-2, was built in March 1974, #73748-21, FN 73748-21, as CE&I 3159. It became MP 3159 in 1976 and UP 4159, Class SD40-2, on November 7, 1991. It was retired on May 31, 1999, and was renumbered 9882 on December 5, 2000, since it was still on the property.

1st 4163, Class SD40-2, was built in March 1974, #73748-25, FN 73748-25, as C&EI 3163.  It became MP 3163 in 1976, and UP 4163, Class SD40-2, on August 9, 1988,  It was renumbered B4163 on August 3, 1992, and assigned 8942 but retired on December 28, 2000.  It was sold to Larry's Truck Electric in December 2003.

2nd 4163, Class SD40-2, was built in August 1975, #75616-2, FN 74616-2, as MP 3203.  It became UP 4153, Class SD40-2, on January 15, 1986, and renumbered 4203 on April 28, 1986.  It was renumbered 9911 on July 28, 2000, and retired on November 22, 2000.  It was sold to Cycle System in 2001.

1st 4164, Class SD40-2, was built in August 1975, #75616-3, FN 75616-3, as MP 3204.  It became UP 4164, Class SD40-2, on January 15, 1986, and renumbered 4204 on April 15, 1986.  It was renumbered 9912 on June 11, 2000, and retired on June 20, 2001.  It was sold to Larry's Truck Electric Co as LTEX 9912 and sold to Progress Rail Services as PRLX 9912 in 2011.

2nd 4164, Class SD40-2, was built in March 1975, #7690-1, FN 74690-1, as MP 3164. In 1982 it became UP 4164, Class SD40-2, and was retired on April 19, 1990. It was sold to General American Transportation Co as 2000 on December 21, 1990, and sold to Canadian Pacific on March 14, 1994.  It became CPR 5422 on January 17, 1995.  It was sold Locomotive Leasing Partners 4403 on May 26, 1999, and sold to National Railway Equipment Co  as NRE 4403 in 2007.

1st 4165, Class SD40-2, was built in August 1975, #75616-4, FN 75616-4, as MP 3205.  It became UP 4165, Class SD40-2, on January 19, 1986, and renumbered 4205 on April 15, 1986.  It was renumbered B4205 on December 1, 1992. and returned as 4205 on October 7, 1997.  It was renumbered 8943 on May 10, 2000, and retired on July 31, 2001.

4167, Class SD40-2, was built in March 1975, #74690-4, FN 74690-4, as MP 3167.  It became UP 4167, Class SD40-2, on June 15, 1987, and retired on April 19, 1990.  It was sold as GATX 7374 and relettered as GSCX 7374.  It was sold as NREX 7374 in 2007.

(4169), Class SD40-2, was built in March 1975, #74690-6, FN 74690-6, as MP 3169.  It was assigned UP 4169 but retired on April 19, 1990.  It was sold to General American Transportation Co as GATX 7361 and sold to as NREX 7361 in 2007.

4172, Class SD40-2, was built in March 1975, #74690-9, FN 74690-9, as MP 3172.  It became UP 4172 on April 14, 1989, and retired on April 19, 1990.  It was sold as GATX 2003 on November 21, 1990, and then as Canadian Pacific 5425 on February 16, 1995.

4174, Class SD40-2, was built in March 1975, #74690-11, FN 74690-11, as MP 3174.  It became UP 4174, Class SD40-2, on August 28, 1987.  It was retired on April 19, 1990, and sold as Grand Trunk Western 5931, Class GF-30y, in April 1990.

4175, Class SD40-2, was built in March 1975, #74690-12, FN 74690-12, as MP 3175. On September 9, 1986, it became UP 4175 and was retired on April 19, 1990. It was sold to GATX as 2004 and then sold to CPR as 5426 in March 1994. It was sold as NREX 5426 and sold at Fort Worth & Western 2015.  It was later named "Butch Cassidy".

4176, Class SD40-2, was built in March 1975, #74690-13, FN 74690-13, as MP 3176.  It was assigned UP 4176 but retired on April 19, 1990.  It was sold as GATX 7362 and relettered as GSCX 7362.

4184, Class SD40-2, was built in March 1975, #74690-21, FN 74690-21, as MP 3184.  It became UP 4184 on August 20, 1987, and retired on April 19, 1990.  It was sold as GATX 7365.  It was sold as Georgia Southwestern RR 4002 in 2006 and renumbered 3311 in 2010.

(4185), Class SD40-2, was built in March 1975, #74690-22, FN 74690-22, as MP 3185.  It was assigned UP 4185, Class SD40-2, but retired on April 16, 1990.  It was sold as GATX 7366 and relettered as GSCX 7388.  It was sold to Watco as WAMX 4129.

4190, Class SD40-2, was built in March 1975, #74690-27, FN 74690-27, as MP 3190.  It became UP 4190, Class SD40-2, on June 27, 1989, and retired on April 19, 1990.  It was sold as GATX 7371 and relettered as GSCX 7371.  It was sold as WAMX 4130.

4193, Class SD40-2, was built in March 1975, #74690-30, FN 74690-30, as MP 3193.  It became UP 4193, Class SD40-2, on January 26, 1988, and retired on April 19, 1990.  It was sold as GATX 7377 and relettered as GSCX 7377.  It was leased as Wheeling & Lake Erie Ry 7377 in 2002.
