Electro-Motive SD40-2 Diesel Locomotives

 

901, SD40-2, was built in March 1972, #5812-2, FN 5812-2.  In August 1979 it was renumbered 6349, Class SD40-2.  In January 1982 it became BN 6349, Class SD40-2. and it became Burlington Northern Santa Fe  6375, Class SD40-2, in February 1999.  It was rebuilt as 1956, Class SD40-2R, on July 9, 2009.

902, SD40-2, was buil in March 1972, #5812-3, FN 5812-3. In August 1979 it was renumbered 6350, Class SD40-2. In January 1982 it became BN 6350, Class SD40-2, and it became BNSF 6376, Class SD40-2, in July 1998.  It was rebuilt as 1957, Class SD40-2R, in 2009.

904, SD40-2, was built in March 1972, #5815-5, FN 5815-5. In August 1979 it was renumbered 6352, Class SD40-2. In January 1982 it became BN 6352, Class SD40-2, and it became BNSF 6386, Class SD40-2, in June 1998.  It was rebuilt as 1959, Class SD40-2R, on April 24, 2009.

906, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1972, #5812-7, FN 5812-7.  In August 1979 it was renumbered 6354, Class SD40-2.  In January 1982 it became BN 6354, Class SD40-2, and it became BNSF 6388, Class SD40-2, in November 1998.  It was rebuilt as 1961, Class SD40-2R, in 2009.

907, SD40-2, was built in March 1972, #5812-8, FN 5812-8. In August 1979 it was renumbered 6355, Class SD40-2. In January 1982 it became BN 6355, Class SD40-2.  It became BNSF 6369, Class SD40-2, in May 1998.

909, SD40-2, was built by in March 1972, #5812-10, FN 5812-10.  In August 1979 it was renumbered 6357, Class SD40-2.  In January 1982 it became BN 6357, Class SD40-2.  It became BNSF 6391, Class SD40-2, in May 1999.

913, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1972, #5812-14, FN 5812-14.  In August 1979 it was renumbered 6361, Class SD40-2.  In January 1982 it became BN 6361, Class SD40-2, and later became BNSF 6395, Class SD40-2, in May 1998.  It was rebuilt as 1968, Class SD40-2R.

914, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1972, #5812-15, FN 5812-15.  In August 1979 it was renumbered 6362, Class SD40-2.  In January 1982 it became BN 6362, Class SD40-2, and later became BNSF 6396, Class SD40-2, in October 1998.  It was rebuilt as 1969, Class SD40-2R.

915, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1972, #5812-16, FN 5812-16. In August 1979 it was renumbered 6363, Class SD40-2. In January 1982 it became BN 6363, Class SD40-2, and it later became BNSF 6363, Class SD40-2.

920, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1974, #73666-3, FN 73666-3.  In August 1979 it was renumbered 6368, Class SD40-2.  In January 1982 became BN 6368, Class SD40-2, and later became BNSF 6368, Class SD40-2, in January 2002.

922, SD40-2, was built in by Electro-Motive in February 1974, #73666-5, FN 73666-5.  In August 1979 it was renumbered 6370, Class SD40-2.  In January 1982 became BN 6370, Class SD40-2, and later became BNSF 6370, Class SD40-2, in July 2002.  It was rebuilt as 1973, Class SD40-2R, in 2009.

930, SD40-2, was builtby Electro-Motive in May 1977, #766024-9. FN 766024-9, as C&S 930.  In August 1979 it was renumbered 7800, Class SD40-2.  In January 1982 it became BN 7800, Class SD40-2, and it later became BNSF 7800, Class SD40-2, on February 1, 2002.  It was retired on June 30, 2009, and sold to Larry's Truck Equipment as LTEX 7800.  It was sold as Wheeling & Lake Erie 6388 in December 2013.

937, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1977, #766070-1, FN 766070-1. In August 1979 it was renumbered 7807, Class SD40-2. In January 1982 it became BN 7807, Class SD40-2, and it later became BNSF 7807, Class SD40-2, on April 3, 2006.  It was retired on June 30, 2009.

942, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1977, #766070-6, FN 766070-6. In August 1979 it was renumbered 7812, Class SD40-2. In January 1982 it became BN 7812, Class SD40-2, and it later became BNSF 7812, Class SD40-2, in January 24, 2003.  It was retired on June 30, 2009.

949, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1977, #766070-13, FN 766070-13. In August 1979 it was renumbered 7819, Class SD40-2. In January 1982 it became BN 7819, Class SD40-2, and it became BNSF 7819, Class SD40-2, in May 25, 2001.  It was retired on June 3, 2009.

954, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1974, #74648-5, FN 74648-5. In August 1979 it was renumbered 7824, Class SD40-2. In January 1982 it became BN 7824, Class SD40-2, and it became BNSF 7824, Class SD40-2, in July 8, 2002.  It was retired on January 14, 2010.

957, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1974, #74648-8, FN 786057-8. In August 1979 it was renumbered 7827, Class SD40-2. In January 1982 it became BN 7827, Class SD40-2, and it became BNSF 7827, Class SD40-2, in March 21, 2001.   It was renumbered 1797 on March 11, 2010.

980, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1974, #73668-1, FN 73668-1.  In August 1979 in was renumbered 6850, Class SD40-2.  It January 1982 it became BN 6850, Class SD40-2, and it became BNSF 6850, Class SD40-2, on July 12, 2001.  It was rebuilt as 1977, Class SD40-2R, on September 1, 2010.

7834, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1978, #786057-15, FN 786057-15.  In January 1982 it became BN 7834, Class SD40-2, and on October 9, 1998, it became BNSF 7834, Class SD40-2.  It was retired on November 18, 2008.

7850, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1978, #FN 766057-31, FN 786057-31.  In January 1982 it became BN 7850, Class SD 40-2, and in May 2002 it became BNSF 7850, Class SD40-2.  It was retired on November 18, 2008, and sold to Helm Leasing Corp as HLCX 7850.  It was scrap to Milano Metals in March 2013.

7855, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1978, #766057-36, FN 786057-37.  In January 1982 it became BN 7855, Class SD40-2, and in April 24, 2001, it became BNSF 7855, Class SD40-2.  It was retired on November 18, 2008.

7857, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1978, #786001-2, FN 786001-2. In January 1982 it became BN 7857, Class SD40-2, and on January 13, 2000, it became BNSF 7857, Class SD40-2.  It was retired on January 12, 2010, and sold to as HLCX 7857.  It was sold as Norfolk Southern 3523, Class SD40-2, on April 25, 2014.

7859, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1978, #786001-4, FN 786001-4.  In January 1982, it became BN 7859, Class SD40-2, and on January 4, 2000, it became BNSF 7859, Class SD40-2.  It was renumbered 1576 on March 6, 2010.

7862, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1978, #786001-7, FN 786001-7.  In January 1986, it became BN 7862, Class SD40-2, and BNSF 7862, Class SD40-2, in May 2001.  It was retired on November 18, 2008, and sold as HLCX 7862 in November 2008.  It was sold as NS 3524, Class SD40-2, on February 14, 2014.

7866, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1978, #786001-11, FN 786001-11. In January 1982, it became BN 7866, Class SD40-2,and BNSF 7866, Class SD40-2, on August 20, 2003.  It was retired on November 18, 2008, and sold as HLCX 7866 in November 2008.

7890, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1979, #786173-63, FN 786173-63.  In January 1982 it became BN 7890, Class SD40-2, and BNSF 7890, Class SD40-2, in March 1999.  It was retired on November 18, 2008.

7892, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1979, #786173-65, FN 786173-65.  In January 1982 it became BN 7892, Class SD40-2, and BNSF 7892, Class SD40-2, in February 1999.  It was retired on November 18, 2008, and sold to Helm as HLCX 7892 in November 2008.

7903, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1979, #786173-76, FN 786173-76.  In January 1982 it became BN 7903, Class SD40-2, and BNSF 7903, Class SD40-2, in January 2000.  It was retired in April 2008 and sold as HLCX 7903.  It was sold as Norfolk Southern 3530, Class SD40-2, on November 15, 2013.

7907, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1979, #786173-80, FN 786173-80. In January 1982 it became BN 7907, Class SD40-2. It was wrecked June 21, 1984, and retired. In January 1985 it was sold for scrap to Schnitzer Steel.

7916, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1979, #786173-89, FN 786163-89. In January 1982 it became BN 7916, Class SD40-2, and on September 7, 1999, it became BNSF 7916, Class SD40-2, in June 2002.   It was retired on November 18, 2008, and sold to Helm as HLCX 7916 in November 2008.  It became NS 3531, Class SD40-2, in February 14, 2016.

7918, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1979, #786173-91, FN 786163-91. In January 1982 it became BN 7918, Class SD40-2, and on September 7, 1999, it became BNSF 7918, Class SD40-2, in September 1999.   It was retired on November 18, 2008, and sold to Helm as HLCX 7918 in November 2008.

7920, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1979, #786173-93, FN 786163-93.  In January 1982 it became BN 7920, Class SD40-2, and BNSF 7920, Class SD40-2, in September 2002.  It was retired in April 2008 and sold as HLCX 7920.  It was sold as NS 3532, Class SD40-2, on March 6, 2014.

7921, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1979, #786173-94, FN 786163-94.  In January 1982 it became BN 7921, Class SD40-2, and BNSF 792l, Class SD40-2, in August 2001.  It was retired in April 2008 and sold as HLCX 7921.  It was sold as NS 3533, Class SD40-2, on November 22, 2013.

7922, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1979, #786173-95, FN 786173-95.  In January 1982 it became BN 7922, Class SD40-2, and in January 2001, it became BNSF 7922, Class SD40-2.  It was retired on November 18, 2008, and sold to Helm as HLCX 7922 in November 2008.  It became NS 3534. Class SD40-2, on February 14, 2014.

7927, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1980, #786252-60, FN 786252-60.  It became BN 7927, Class SD40-2, in January 1982 and 1n April 2001, it became BNSF 7927, Class SD40-2.  It was sold to First Union Rail as FURX 7927 in February 2002 sold to Watco as WAMX 4146.

7933, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1980, #786252-66, FN 786252-66.  It became BN 7933, Class SD40-2 in January 1982.  It was assigned as BNSF 7933, Class SD40-2, but sold as FURX 7933 in February 2002.  It was sold as NS 3487, Class SD40-2, on October 17, 2012.

7934, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1980, #786252-67, FN 786252-67.  It became BN 7934, Class SD40-2 in January 1982.  It was assigned as BNSF 7934, Class SD40-2, but sold as FURX 7934 in February 2002.  It was sold as Wisconsin & Southern RR 4012 and became WAMX 4181.

7935, Class SD40-2, was by Electro-Motive built in April 1980, #786252-68, FN 786252-68.  In January 1982 it became BN 7935, Class SD40-2, and in November 1999 it became BNSF 7935, Class SD40-2.  It was sold as FURX 7935 in February 2002.  It was sold as NS 3488, Class SD40-2, on October 17, 2012.

7937, Class SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1980, #786252-70, FN 786252-70.  In January 1982 it became BN 7937, Class SD40-2, and assigned as BNSF 7937, Class SD40-2, but not relettered.  It was sold as FURX 7937 in February 2002 and sold as National Railway Equipment Co as NREX 7937.  It was sold as WAMX 4194.

8101, Class SD40-2, was built in May 1980, #786256-12, FN 786256-12.  In January 1972 it became BN 8101, Class SD40-2  It was retired and sold as FURX 8101.  It was sold as WAMX 4151.
