Chicago South Shore & South Bend RR

Chicago South Shore & South Bend Railroad was formed to acquire certain railroad assets from a trustee-in-bankruptcy in December 1989. The line provides high-density freight and passenger services. The transaction conveyed the responsibility for passenger operations to a regional commuter authority. South Shore serves major steel and utility facilities and the Illinois International Port in Chicago and connects with all Class I railroads in Chicago.

2000, GP38-2, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1981, #796333-1, FN 796333-1.

2001, GP38-2, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1981, #796333-2, FN 796333-2.

2002, GP38-2, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1981, #796333-3, FN 796333-3.

2003, GP38-2, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1981, #796333-4, FN 796333-4.

Gulf Coast Switching

Gulf Coast Switching Company, LLC provides contract rail switching services. On October 1, 2008, the company began switching and track maintenance services for the Union Pacific Railroad at Robinson Yard at Dayton, TX.


Louisville & Indiana RR

The Louisville & Indiana Railroad was formed in March 1994 to acquire 106 miles of rail line between Indianapolis and Louisville. LIRC connects with CSX, INRD, NS and PAL railroads. The line serves numerous major companies and an efficient inland port facility. Since formation, L&I has located a number of new industries to its lines.

202, GP10, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1959, #24312, FN 5556-31, as Pennsylvania RR 7260, Class EFS-17m, (GP9).  It became Penn Central 7260, Class ERS-17, in 1968 and became Consolidated Railroad Corp 7260, Class GP-9.  It was rebuilt as 7595, Class GP-10, and sold as Ohio Central RR 7595.  It was sold as New York & Atlantic 202 in 1997 and transferred as L&IRR 202.

220, GP38-2, was built by General Motors in April 1981, #A4063, FN C432-1, as Devco Ry 220.  It was sold as L&IRR 220 in 1996.

221, GP38-2, was built by General Motors in April 1981, #A4064, FN C432-2, as Devco 221.  It was sold as L&IRR 221 in 1996.

1607, GP7u, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1951, #13894, FN 5050-28, as Atlantic Coast Line 214.  It went to Seaboard Coast Line 834 in July 1967 and rebuilt at Uceta in June 1982 as SCL 4797.  It went to Seaboard System RR 4797 and later renumbered 1843.  It went to CSX Transportation 1843, Class GP-16, and retired on February 19, 1993.  It was sold as L&IRR 1843 and renumbered 1607 in March 1994.  It was sold as Burlington Junction RR 1607 in September 2003.

1608, GP9u, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1955, #21072, FN 5424-4, as Seaboard Air Line RR 1903, a GP9.  In July 1967 it became Seaboard Coast Line 1003 and was rebuilt at Uceta in June 1982 as 4643.  It became SBD 4643 in January 1983 and renumbered 1743 in 1984.  It became CSX 1743, Class GP-16, in April 1986 and retired on February 19, 1993, and sold as L&IRR 1608.

1609, GP7u, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1951, #13917, FN 5087-20, as ACL 172, GP7.  It went to SCL 760 in July 1967 and rebuilt at Uceta in May 1982 as SCL 4794,  It became SBD 4794 in January 1983 and later renumbered 1840 in 1984.  It went to CSX 1840, Class GP-16, in April 1986 and retired on February 19, 1993.  It was sold as L&IRR 1840 and later renumbered 1609.  It was sold as BJRR 1609 in September 2003.

1610, GP9u, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1956, #22641, FN 5499-17, as SAL 1970, a GP9.  It became SCL 1043 in July 1967 and rebuilt at Uceta in April 1982 as SCL 4641.  It became SBD 4641 in January 1983 and renumbered 1741 in 1984.  It became CSX 1741, Class GP-16, in April 1986 and retired on January 13, 1993.  It was sold as L&IRR 1741 and later renumbered 1610.

1800, GP7u, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1951, #13895, FN 5050-29, as ACL 215, a GP7.  It became SCL 835 in July 1967 and rebuilt at Uceta in March 1981 as 4754.  It became SBD 4754 and later renumbered 1800.  It became CSX 1800, Class GP-16, and retired on February 19, 1993.  It was sold as L&IRR 1800 and sold as Pee Dee River RR 1800 in 1997.

1842, GP7u, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1952, #15539, FN 6151-13, as Seaboard Air Line RR 1795.  It became Seaboard Coast Line 975 in July 1967 and rebuilt at Uceta as 4796 in July 1982.  It became Seaboard System 4796 and renumbered 1842.  It became CSX 1842, Class GP-16, and sold as L&IRR 1842 in 1993.  It was sold as PDRR 1842 in 2002.

2371, GP39-2, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1984, #837058-13, FN 837058-13, as Missouri-Kansas-Texas 372.  It became Union Pacific 2371 on September 7, 1990, and renumbered WP2371 as retired on May 22, 2001.  It was sold as Louisville & Indiana 2371 in 2003.

9321, SW1200, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1957, #23763, FN 4401-2, as Delaware Lackawanna & Western 562.  It went to Erie Lackawanna 457, Class SE-12, in 1960 and Consolidated Railroad Corp 9321, Class SW-1200, in April 1976.  It was later as L&IRR 9321.


New York & Atlantic Ry.

New York & Atlantic Railway began operation in May 1997 as result of the privatized concession to operate freight trains on the lines owned by Long Island Rail Road. The railway serves a diverse customer base and shares track with the densest passenger system in the United States. NYA connects with CP, CSX, NYNJ, NS and PW.

151, MP15AC, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1977, #766043-2, FN 766043-2, as Long Island RR 151, Class E-15.  It was sold as NY&A 151 in 1997.

155, MP15AC, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1977, #766043-6, FN 766043-6, as LIRR 155.  It was sold as NY&A 153 in 1997.

Northern Lines Ry.

Northern Lines was formed in 2005 to operate BNSF trackage in central Minnesota. NLR serves outstanding distribution facilities and connects daily with BNSF's mainline network.


Pacific Harbor Line, Inc.

Pacific Harbor Line, Inc. was formed in 1998 to take over the Harbor Belt Line.  In 1998 the Alameda Corridor was nearing completion, allowing a massive amount of railroad traffic provides rail transportation, maintenance and dispatching services to the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, which together form the largest container port in the United States. In addition to switching over 40,000 units of carload freight annually, PHL provides rail switching services for nine on-dock intermodal terminals and provides dispatching services for about 140 intermodal or unit trains per day.  PHL connects with BNSF and UP.

32, SW1200, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1957, #23768, FN 4401-7, as Delaware Lackawanna & Western 567.  It went to Erie Laclawanna as 462, Class SE-12, in 1960 and Consolidated Railroad Corp as 9326, Class SW-1200, in April 1976.  It was sold to PHL as 32.

43, SD24m, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1959, #25610, FN 5606-13, as Southern Ry 2514.  It was renumbered 6333 in 1972.  It was retired in June 1978 and sold to Precision National Corp.  It became PNC 6333 and rebuilt in 1979 as 1833.  It was sold to  Chicago & North Western as 6636 in March 1982 and retired on February 21, 1997.  It was sold as Ohio Central RR 6636 in June 1997 and sold as PHL 43.

81, 3GS21C, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1976, #37363, FN 7308-9, as Cincinnati New Orleans & Texas Pacific (Southern RY) 3178, a SD40.  It was assigned as Norfolk Southern 3178, Class SD40, but never relettered.  It was sold as National Railway Equipment Co 3178 and rebuilt by NRE as PHL 81, 3GS21C, in May 2008.
