582 thru 585 were built in April 1969, #34273 thru 34276 as Chicago Milwaukee St. Paul & Pacific 582 thru 585, Class 23E-RS6. They were assigned Soo Line 6200 thru 6203, but were relettered Soo 582 thru 585 and retired in August 1987. They then became WC 582 thru 585.

586 thru 590 were built in November 1972, #7345-1 thru 7345-5 as CMStP&P 586 thru 590, Class 23E-RS6. They were assigned Soo Line 6204 thru 6208, but were not renumbered before they were sold to WC as 586 thru 590 in November 1987.
