City Cars 550 - 574
501 thru 600 were built by St. Louis Car in 1911. At 29 1/2 tons, they were the heaviest local cars built for Milwaukee. The story is told that people along the Wells Line were complaining about the interurbans which ran every hour. John I. Beggs ordered these cars to really give them something to complain about. The truth of this story is questionable but they were his last purchase for TM.
This series of 100 cars is being split into four pages for convenience.
550 thru 565 were one-manned in 1928, and 566 thru 574 were one-manned in 1931. All were scrapped between 1948 and 1952.
