Aberdeen Carolina & Western

This short line operates between Charlotte and Star and beyond to Aberdeen and Gulf.

703, GP40-2W, was built by General Motors in December 1973, #A2941, FN C361-4, as Government of Ontario Transit 9811, Class GRE-30c.  It was renumbered 703, Class GRG-430c, in 1975, and sold as Tri-County Commuter Rail Authority 703 in 1991,  It was sold as AC&W 703.

704, GP40-2LW, was built by General Motors in May 1974, #A3001, FN 365-24, as Canadian National 9423, Class GF-430a.  It was sold as AC&W 704 in 2009.

896, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1950, #11592, FN 6105-5, as Seaboard Air Line 1716. It became Seaboard Coast Line 896 in July 1967. It became Aberdeen and Briar Patch 896. In 1993 it became AC&W 896 when the A&BP was taken over. It was later renumbered 701.

1600, GP18m, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1960, #26122, FN 5626-9, as Seaboard Air Line RR 408. It became Seaboard Coast Line 1064 in July 1967 and was rebuilt at Uceta in May 1980 as SCL 4621. It later became Seaboard System RR 4621 in January 1983 and was renumbered 1721 in 1984.  It became CSX Transportation 1721, Class GP-16, in April 1986. It was sold to AC&W as 1721 in 1993 and later was renumbered 1600.

1601, GP9m, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1956, #23098, FN 7533-4, as SAL 1925. It became SCL 1024 in July 1967 and was rebuilt at Uceta in October 1982 as SCL 4645. It later became SBD 4645 in January 1983 and was renumbered 1745 in 1984.  It became CSX 1745, Class GP-16, in April 1986. It was sold to AC&W as 1745 in November 1992 and later was renumbered 1601.

1602, GP7u, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1951, #13898, FN 5087-1, as Atlantic Coast Line 153.  It became SCL 741 in July 1967 and rebuilt at Uceta in January 1980 as 4709.  It became SBD 4709 in January 1983 and renumbered 1755 in 1984.  It became CSX 1755, Class GP-16, in April 1987.  It was sold as AC&W 1755 and renumbered 1602.

1603, GP7u, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1950, #12099, FN 5070-12, as SAL 1741, a GP7.  It became SCL 921 in July 1967 and rebuilt at Uceta in July 1980 as 4728.  It became SBD 4728 in January 1983 and renumbered 1774 in 1984.  It became CSX 1774, Class GP-16, in April 1986 and retired on June 25, 1992.  It was sold as AC&W 1774 in November 1992 and renumbered 1603.

1604, GP7u, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1950, #12898, FN 6187-2, as Charleston & Western Carolina 201.  It became  ACL 255 in 1959 and SCL 855 in July 1967.  It was rebuilt at  Uceta in November 1980 as 4731 and became SBD 4731.  It was renumbered 1783 and became CSX 1783, Class GP-16.  It was retired on April 30, 1992, and sold as AC&W 1783 in 1993.  It was renumbered 1604.

3802, GP38, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1967, #33364, FN 7060-47, as Baltimore & Ohio 3846, Class GP-38. It was renumbered 2046 in 1986 and later became CSX 2046, Class GP-38, in 1987. It was retired on January 31, 1992, and sold to AC&W as 3802 in September 22, 1992.  It was wrecked in April 2002 and rebuilt in 2004.

3803, GP38, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1967, #33728, as Chesapeake & Ohio 3897, Class GP-38. It was renumbered 2097 and later became CSX 2097, Class GP-38. It was later sold to AC&W as 3803.

4444, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1956, #21451, as Grand Trunk 1770, Class GR-17b.  It was renumbered 4444 in 1956 and later transferred to Central Vermont as 4444, Class GR-17d.  It was transferred to Grand Trunk Western and retired in 1998.  It was sold to Western Railroad Dismantlers and sold to Taylor Rail Group Inc as TBRX 4444.  It was sold as AC&W 4444 in 2007.

4500, F7A, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1950, #10348, FN 3036-A2, as Chicago Milwaukee St Paul & Pacific 48-C, Class 15E-F. It was renumbered 47-A in January 1972 and renumbered 81-A.  It was sold as Dakota Rail 81A and sold as Gettysburg Ry 81A.  It was sold as Ohio Central RR 1001 and sold as AC&W 4500 in 2007.

6926, SD40-3, was built by General Motors in December 1971, #A2601, FN C345-14, as Canadian National 5238, Class GF-30m.  It was retired on November 11, 1997, and was rebuilt by GEC-Alsthom as GCFX 6056 in 1997.  It was sold as Wisconsin Central Ltd 6926 in 2005 and sold as AC&W 6926 in 2009.

9556, GP40-2L, was built by General Motors in February 1975, #A3191, FN C376-26, as Canadian National 9556, Class GF-430c.  It was retired on June 23, 1998, and sold in 1998 to Southern Marine Equipment.  It was sold to Taylor Rail Group as TBRX 9556 and sold as AC&W 9556.
