City Cars 701-750

The 700s were a radical change in car design for the TM. 701-750 were built at Cold Spring in 1917 and 1918 with center doors and MU pneumatic controls to allow for train operation. Using maximum traction trucks, they were two motor cars which made them badly underpowered and slow. They were rebuilt as one man cars with level floors, end doors, K35G control, 2 additional motors, and safety control.  After 1948 they were used for tripper service, and all were gone by 1953.
